Greetings to all! I am GM Chris, and thank you for reading my post.
I’ve been running D&D since 1992, with about 23 active years behind the screen. Chances are, I've (nearly) seen it all. Basic D&D 1.0 (2yrs), AD&D 2.0 (5yrs), 3.0/3.5 (17yrs collectively), and now 5e (since mid-2025). I started with dungeon crawls, but quickly grew into immersive, narrative-driven campaigns that blend adventure, emotion, teamwork and strategy. I specialize in Low-Level and new players. Some of my best work lies in the Level 1-5 range. I’ve completely reimagined and rebuilt several published adventures from the ground up, including the D&D Essentials Kit, into full cinematic experiences. My "D&D Bootcamp for New Players" teaches newcomers the key fundamentals and mechanics through immersive storytelling and hands-on play.
My style has been described as "Plain Vanilla with Rainbow Sprinkles" - grounded in Classic rules, classes and races, but full of flair, drama, flavor and heart. My tables focus on story, teamwork, and immersion - not rule mongering. I would call my games Balanced-Medium across the board - a healthy mix of combat, roleplay, tactics, challenge, and tone. Enough realism to feel grounded, enough fantasy to feel wondrous.
Here is some info about the campaign that I am running: A Masterclass where I teach DnD through storytelling. Learn the game by living the adventure — teamwork, tactics, and choices that matter. A cinematic campaign built for new players who want to play, learn, and remember.
What begins as the familiar Essentials Kit adventure quickly becomes something entirely different in my hands. I’ve transformed The Dragon of Icespire Peak into a complete, cinematic D&D Bootcamp experience — built specifically for new and returning players who want to learn the game while playing it.
This isn’t a plug-and-play module. It’s a living world, rebuilt from the ground up to teach, inspire, and immerse. Every quest has been expanded with vivid first-look descriptions, emotional character hooks, and custom artwork designed to make you see the world — not just move through it.
Each adventure in the Bootcamp focuses on a specific skill: tactical combat, moral choice, teamwork, exploration, or creative problem-solving. By the time your party reaches the final showdown with Cryovain atop Icespire Hold, you won’t just be rolling dice — you’ll be heroes in a story you helped shape.
Unlike the cookie-cutter or AI-generated modules flooding the market, this campaign was built by hand, line by line, by a Dungeon Master with over twenty years of storytelling experience. AI tools were used only as a craftsman’s chisel — to enhance detail, not replace imagination.
I am heavily invested in books and resources (which are shared with you digitally), including the Roll20 Pro and DNDBeyond Pro subscriptions. As such, I ask for $10 USD per session to help offset the costs of the materials. THERE WILL BE a Session Zero on our first scheduled day, to ensure that everyone is prepared and ready to start the adventure. Session Zero is FREE OF CHARGE, and the first play session is HALF PRICE, so you can "try it before you buy it", to ensure this is the right fit for you.
If you’re looking for a patient, professional DM who teaches by doing — and you want your first D&D experience to feel like you’re inside a living fantasy novel — then welcome to my table. Let’s make your first adventure unforgettable.
I read your post and was immediately interested. As a new player myself (only been playing for around 1 and 1/2 years) and a recent but not temporary DM/GM, I've been searching for a group to join. I already have a character that I'm more than willing to share with you (if it's alright to have premade characters). I'm in CST, so let me know if that creates a conflict or not. And, if I meet the requirements to be a new player for you, I can start campaigns anytime around 5:30-6:00 p.m unless something comes up.
Well hello there, ClockWielder. Thanks for responding.
My campaign is geared towards brand new, semi-new, and returning players, so I would imagine you would fit nicely into that semi-new category. I can tell you from experience, that even after 23 years at the table, I still learn something new about D&D on the regular. You actually sound like just the kind of person that I am looking for.
Would you be willing to strike up a brief conversation on Discord, so we can get to know each other and be sure that we both fit each others expectations? In the essence of respect towards my fellow human beings, and fellow gamers, I would hate to waste your time if this isn't what you're looking for. Can you spare 10 minutes to chat?
You can message me on Discord. I'm online right now (at the time of this posting, 230pm MST), and will be available until 500pm MST via Discord. Discord user ID: demanacus1486
