[LFP] [Online] [EST] Ongoing D&D 5e Arena Campaign – Rotating Parties, Persistent World (FREE)
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online Experience: Any (new players welcome) Location/Timezone: EST (US East Coast) Schedule: Multiple sessions per week, flexible sign-ups Roles sought: Players (building an ongoing player pool) Game style: Tactical combat, creative problem-solving, light roleplay, high-stakes challenges
Hello everyone,
I’m recruiting players for a FREE, ongoing D&D 5e campaign run online multiple times per week.
This is not a one-shot series and not a traditional “same party every week” campaign.
Instead, this game is structured as a persistent arena-style campaign where: - Each session features a distinct challenge - Parties are formed from available players in a shared player pool - Characters persist across sessions even as party composition changes - Outcomes, decisions, and standout moments are recorded in an in-world Tome of Challenges
Players sign up for sessions when they are available. There is no requirement to attend every game.
What to expect: - Objective-based arena challenges (escort, retrieval, survival, traversal) - Tactical combat that rewards positioning, teamwork, and creative play - Strong pacing with minimal filler - Increasing difficulty over time (currently suited for level 3–4 characters) - Minor consumable magic items and meaningful progression - A consistent setting and DM across all sessions
Schedule and flexibility: - Multiple games per week - Sessions scheduled based on player availability - Ideal for players who want regular D&D without a fixed weekly commitment
Tools and platform: - Discord for live voice sessions - AboveVTT and D&D Beyond Maps used as virtual tabletops (we alternate between both) - D&D Beyond required for character sheets and dice rolling - D&D Beyond accounts must be linked to Discord - Dice rolls from D&D Beyond are routed into the campaign Discord via the Avrae bot
Voice is required. Video is optional.
Third-party content and playtesting: - Select third-party classes, subclasses, feats, spells, and items are allowed - Some third-party content is actively being playtested - During play, I may issue clarifications or balance adjustments as needed - Any errata will be explained clearly and applied consistently going forward - No retroactive punishment for good-faith character choices
Players using third-party content should be comfortable with iteration and refinement during play.
Table expectations: - Respectful, inclusive, and collaborative environment - Clear communication and good-faith play - Clever solutions and bold decisions are encouraged and rewarded - This is a fair but demanding arena, not a gotcha-style game
If you’re interested, please reply or message me with: - Your D&D experience level - Your general availability (days/times, EST) - What you enjoy most in a D&D game - Your Discord username, so we can set up a brief intro chat
