This is my first non-module campaign, and my third campaign ever. But I'm very excited to run this. I'm looking for 3-4 players. We are LGBTQ+ friendly, as I am part of the community myself.
We will play on Discord on Saturdays, and times can be discussed. We are also using Theater of the Mind, not Roll20 or anything similar.
Third, I am only 15, and our group is on the younger side, though I'm the youngest. If you're interested, please reply with a bit about yourself and your character. Everyone starts at Level 1.
Hiya! I'm Mabojun and I'm 27, but I don't think age really matters here. First of all, I'm relatively new to D&D so I might be asking a lot of questions if you'll have me. Most of my experience is from CRPGs like Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. So I think I have the basic rules and mechanics down but collaborating with other people on a story is still a new (and exciting) thing for me.
The character I'd like to play is called Quen T'ahklossz. They are an androgynous/genderqueer drow warlock who leans more towards the feminine side of the spectrum. They alternate between "they" and "she" but was only recognized as a male in drow society. Because she was considered the youngest male of house T'ahklossz, she was almost sacrificed to Lolth to increase the house's favor with the demon goddess. But Quen was saved by an otherworldly entity who saw their potential and offered a pact. The entity communicated this through a series of strange whispers which only she could hear. What's more, the whispers seemed to emanate from an amulet with a purple crystal hanging around the matron mother's neck. Seeing no other way out, Quen accepted the pact--she made a mad leap for the amulet and tore it from the matron mother's neck. The amulet was sharp and sliced into her palm. As her blood gushed onto the crystal at its center a sword suddenly materialized in her hand piercing the matron mother through the heart. What happened next was all a blur. Quen can only remember bits and pieces of the ensuing chaos as panicked priestesses and drow fighters rushed at her. When she regained consciousness she was no longer in Ched Nasad, but lost somewhere in the winding passages of the Underdark. They wandered until they found a passage to the surface near Luskan...
I came up with this mostly on the spot so I'm more than happy to workshop that backstory to make it fit into your campaign! Hope you liked it and I hope to hear from you soon~
Hi! My name is Ally, I'm 21, and a relatively new player (done a few campaigns) I have some ideas for a character, but I'd be happy to work with you to weave him/her into your campaign. My discord is EVE #4098, please feel free to message me there.
I'm a 22 year old guy and live in a GMT+8 timezone
I'm new to D&D, my only experience with it is really just through watching videos and reading rules and mechanics, but I'm pretty familiar with the mechanics. Mostly just of 5e though. I won't be able to do voice chat too much, but I'll be able to use text more.
The character I'd be playing is very heavily homebrewed, but mostly flavor-based, nothing really mechanics based.
I have a D&D Beyond character sheet if you want it, but here's a small summary of her:
Parnella Y'von, a 21 year old mute human bard who uses a special rapier called the Misurare, a viol's bow is built into the blade which allows her to play the instrument while wielding the rapier. She can still communicate with written words and gestures, but can't speak, because of this, Parnella has found ways to cast spells solely with the music and harmonics of the multiverse. She tells stories through her songs, inspiring allies and debilitating enemies, but when needed, she can brandish the Misurare itself to defend herself.
Technical stuff: Variant Human which gives her a feat at lvl 1, the feat would be War Caster, which will allow her to cast spells even if her hands are full (the Misurare is flavor for this), most of her Verbal component spells have been replaced with Somatic components since she can't speak (though she can still make vocalizations with her mouth, like humming or grunting) I've also changed the names of certain spells (like changing 'Vicious Mockery' into 'Painful Chord'), but the effects are the same.
Background: Parnella was orphaned at a young age. Her village destroyed by a heavy storm when she was just a baby and her father dying in the storm. Her mother evacuated but was separated from the rest of the villagers. Her mother made sure to keep Parnella alive as much as she could until it cost her her own life. The baby Parnella was found by a traveling bard, in the embrace of her mother, who'd died of disease a few hours earlier.
The bard was eccentric but kindly, and he took her in, raising her as his apprentice and as a daughter, and giving her her name. She learned of bardic studies from him as they traveled together. He also taught her the sword, but there was always a certain secrecy he had to him. They'd crafted a sword for her to use when she got older: a unique weapon called the Misurare
The bard's past later caught up to him as he was confronted by his old peers from the criminal underground. He hid Parnella as he fought them off. He managed to win, but not without a great cost: He was dealt a lethal blow, and Parnella witnessed his last moments. He told her that he was happy he at least did a bit of good in his life, and told Parnella not to make the same mistakes he did. Though he was gone, he'd inspired Parnella to do as he did, now she travels the land to share stories through song and performances.
Hey Finn can I join. I was in your last dnd before you left. I would love to be in this one. My name is Corinna I am 17. And the character I would be playing is skyler Braveheart. She is a half elf ranger. Would love to join!
My name is Bobby, I'm 20, im fairly new to DnD so hopefully that isn't an issue and I live in the eastern time zone. My main character concept is an aasimar paladin trying to find why he was chosen to have the divine powers he does. The other character concept I've been working on is a gnome barbarian that travels around just exploring and has a slightly dark side that is only seen at certain times. Hopefully I can join! Thanks!

I'm very interested! My name is Laiyn, Or Leo! I'm 16, and I would love to work together with the party to make a character!
Hello Leo! It's a pleasure to "meet" you. We'd love to have you, but would you mind telling me your discord? Either here or through a private message.

Hello Mabojun. Your backstory might need tweaking, but it seems pretty solid. We’d love to have you!

Parnella seems very interesting, but we already have a bard, and I don’t want to have overlapping classes.

For application convenience, we currently have the following classes:
Ranger
Bard
Druid
Cleric
This will be updated as (and if) players join/classes are changed
