Game: -I will be running a D&D 5e campaign with several elements of Basic D&D added (including General Skills, Weapon Mastery progression, Mass Warfare and Stronghold Building). The only homebrew elements are:
-Accidental hitting of characters when they are in the line of missile attacks/polearm attacks on a low roll (on a roll of 1 if one character is in line of attack, roll of 2 for two characters, etc)
-Intelligence score bonuses give additional skill slots (one skill for each bonus)
-Campaign setting is Forgotten Realms, 1367 DR (year) in the land of Sembia. PCs will travel to other lands/dimensions -3-5 players total. I currently have 3 players so I am basically looking for 1 or 2 more. -4 hour sessions on every second Saturday 1-5pm (with flexibility depending on previous group agreement) -Total campaign length will be approximately 9 months/18 sessions (following this, I will start a new game, either new game system or try an earlier edition of D&D, depending on player preferences) -Some games will take place at my house (in Côte-des-neiges neighbourhood) and some in a public area such a bar or café
Group type: Face-to-face/Tabletop
DM Experience: First time with 5e, a few years with Basic
No previous player experience required.
Location: Montreal (Côte-des-neiges)
Game style: -Focus on PC freedom of choice and decision-making, meaning that PCs are generally given several different options as to adventures they wish to do (i.e. minimal "rail-roading" of PCs into adventures). To this end, I make general plans of several adventures, using improvisation when necessary and developing particular adventures more fully after consultation on PCs intentions -Focus on NPC interaction and relationship/alliance-forming (both friendly and antagonistic) with individual NPCs and groups -PC development/role-playing strongly encouraged. Elements from PCs history/personal life will be included in scenarios
-I won’t let PCs die easily from bad luck with the dice, but PCs who make bad/foolish decisions can die. Upon death, a player may take over the role of an NPC-party member for that session (there is always one or two in the party) and can subsequently roll up a new character for the next game or choose to keep the NPC previously assigned. Newly-rolled characters will start at the baseline level of the previous (dead) character OR the baseline level of the lowest-level PC in the party, whichever is lower. -Humour and relevant (i.e. game-related) rants & digressions (within bounds) are allowed within game but lengthy non-game topic discussion is not allowed during game time. If you want to chat, please come early or stay after the game!
Best way to contact me is by text (514) 772-1293 or email: paulbeaulieu2000@gmail.com . You can reply on this site but I likely do not check it every day. Thanks for your time and may your fate be filled with wonder!
