Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online (Discord and Roll20) Experience: Any Location/Timezone: Online at 7pm Central Time Zone (UTC-5) Schedule: I am planning on running the game on Wednesdays Weekly. Roles sought: Looking for players, 3-5 Game style: Role-Play, Story, Light Combat/Random Encounters
(Note): I own most D&D content here on D&D Beyond. I only do not own the AI Guidebook, the Map Pack, the Thesselhydra, and the new Baldur's Gate module. I also have the ability to share all content.
Feel free to apply if:
- You are 18+ in age. - Are okay with moderate to heavy Homebrew rules. - Are okay with being recorded for Twitch. - Are okay with transferring your character sheets over to Roll20 for use.
(Story) For the past 50 years, raids from the other plains on the material realm have gotten increasingly frequent and more powerful. At first, no one knew it was happening. One town would suddenly be found completely empty, like everyone just disappeared in the middle of everyday tasks. They started at small villages, going to farms, small town, larger town, then suddenly one of the 6 major cities of the continent just disappeared. The entire city, buildings and people and surrounding area vanished into a portal of darkness. The last raid was foiled by a band of popular heroes known as the "Unrelenting Bastions". It was then the face of the enemy was revealed, and a war began. Githyanki from their realm have been invading, infiltrating, testing defenses, and taking. Though the Gith are not alone, their invasions have weakened the barrier between all realms. Elementals, Celestials, Demons, and many other creatures have begun to move in from their own realms. The world in wrought with danger from all sides as the Gith invasion continues. With the war started and the land falling into chaos the military has been forced to openly recruit people for the defense of the realm. Your character has signed up for recruitment for their own reasons, and are now on a ship heading for Grathorni, the north eastern great city.
(World Building) - The continent is named "Aria" and the ship set sail from the southern great city of Bastion's Hold. - We are in the late ages of the renaissance era. The 1700's in the real world. - Guns exist but only in Flintlock form - Steam Engines and technology exists
(House Rules) This game is primary Role Play with a lot of Homebrew Elements. The most prominent one is This: All Half Races get to choose two traits from the parent race. For example: A Genasi is a half elemental. If the other half is Elf then you get to choose two traits from Half-Elf to put on your sheet. Or if you are Half-Orc and the other parent is a Goliath, you choose two traits from Goliath to add onto the sheet.
Homebrew: All homebrew subclasses have to be run by me, and homebrew races are allowed but they also have to be run by me.
Class limitations: No Druids of the Moon. I have played about 6 different games with each druid being a Moon druid. I encourage people to play anything else.
Race Limitations: Aasimar are extremely rare and we already have one on the party, so an Aasimar is not allowed for other players.
(The Party so far) So far we have an Aasimar Warlock (Homebrew Subclass of the Archmage), and a Fire Genasi/Half-Orc Barbarian.
Application: If you are interested in joining the game I just ask you to fill out some information that is available below and I'll message you!

Greetings! I would be interested in joining your game. Here are my details:
Name: Gearix (happy to share my real name privately)
Age: 29
D&D Experience: Intermediate Player - Beginner DM
Thoughts on Role Playing: Role-playing is a big part of D&D. I've played in campaign's with about 50/50 role-play/combat. I'm curious and interested to gain more RP experience.
Time Zone: EST
Are you okay with mature content? Expect cursing, sexually suggestive content, uncomfortable situations: I have no issue with this.
(Character)
Name: Alec Alstead
Race: Half-Elf
Class: Druid/Circle of Shepherd
Background: Outlander
Alignment: Chaotic Good
3-5 Sentence Backstory: This is a pretty truncated version of the backstory I created. It's open for molding to better fit your hombrew world. I believe complete hombrew games require collaboration between the PC and DM to have a character that makes sense in the DM's world. On to the backstory:
"After the passing of Alec's human mother, her dying wish was for him to purse his dream of becoming a Druid and helping protect the natural world. A Druid friend of the family, Rakja, brought Alec to his Druid settlement where he began to study and train. During that time, he learned spells, the druidic language, mastered combat, and discovered a natural affinity to bonding with the beast and fey creatures he called forth with his magic. At the age of 30, he became a fully fledged Druid of the Shepherd. Seventy years have passed since then and the rising problems in Aria have spurred him to action, and so he seeks to help bring balance back to the region."
Personal Goals (So I can put in personal quests and such): Alec seeks to bring balance, he believes the issues in Aria may stem from the Elemental Planes being out of balance and would seek to sort that out.
*EDIT* - I forgot to mention: I own all content on D&D Beyond, I'm happy to content share (I have the sub to do so) to help people build characters to then transfer the information to Roll20 since that's the platform you would like to use!
Thoughts on Role Playing: I love role playing it's my favorite part of DnD. I usually try to stick to my character's motivations whenever possible but also help others achieve their goals interacting with NPCs and other Players will be the thing I'm most interested in.

Are you okay with mature content? Expect cursing, sexually suggestive content, uncomfortable situations: Yes
(Character)
Name: Ren
Race: Shadar-Kai
Class: Sorcerer
Background: Hermit
Alignment: Chaotic Good
3-5 Sentence Backstory: Ren started life as a High Elf named Sylran he lived a warrior's life until a tragic death on the battle field. He was resurrected as a Shadar-kai to serve the Raven Queen also gaining sorcery from this resurrection. Now Ren travels trying to learn why he's here and how his powers work he's very young but looks much older. I would play this character very devout to who he claims is his mother (the Raven Queen) keeping up a routine of worship, and he'd be a bit childish but not annoying just trusts easily, and doesn't understand consequences very much.
Personal Goals (So I can put in personal quests and such):To figure out who he is, and get acceptance from the Raven Queen
I am free Tuesdays and Wednesdays and any other day before 6pm and after 1am Central time of course in case you need to contact me or anything
Thoughts on Role-Playing: Very open to roleplaying I think I would need it in a campaign
Time Zone: central (im in texas) I am flexible with time and schedule.
Are you okay with mature content? Expect cursing, sexually suggestive content, uncomfortable situations: It is a part of making the game realistic.
(Character) (I have a character in mind that might involve homebrew and the mystic UA content if you aren't okay with that I can make a character with you or give you another one I already have.(it is not a crazy overpowered spotlight stealer.))
Name: I am not really sure about their name.
Race: I homebrewed a very Frankenstein Pinocchio type race based on the bugbear race.
Class: mystic (wu jen)
Background: I used hunted one but I could discuss that with you as well.
Alignment: neutral good
3-5 Sentence Backstory: A group of mystics possibly along with necromancers (For reasons I can put in your hands if you would like) created a creature made to be a mystic, it either went wrong or too right and created a monstrous humanoid creature. A few (or all) of those mystics put their intelligence and experience into a created soul that they put into the creature they created, The character doesn't have their memories he just has instinctual intelligence and average or below average wisdom. (so he knows common and can function.) I see him having a lot of trouble navigating the world and having this very Hunchback of Notre Dame type yearning to be a part of the world that won't accept him. I could see him being introduced to the party in a way that makes them first see him as a monster or something. (I am very interested in this character but I have others I could do)
Personal Goals (So I can put in personal quests and such): I want his backstory to be vague so you can implement it into the world you've made and I really just want to play it by ear.
Hi i am interested but an extreme beginner if you would have me this would be my first game making me rather hesitant to even ask to join you. My lack of experience is mostly due to a lack of interest from friends and family but I am adamant that I can learn with an experienced guiding hand and have read the rules an almost ludicrous amount of times for preparation though it may not matter considering the homebrew rules. I'm hoping you will have me and if so it is greatly appreciated. I put this before any character information do to the uncertainty of my joining your campaign.
Thoughts on Role Playing: Really like getting into character, I'll take an hours RP interesting characters over hours of combat any time
Time Zone: CST
Are you okay with mature content? Expect cursing, sexually suggestive content, uncomfortable situations: Yes, as long as it's used to enrich the story/world.
(Character)
Name: Morgan
Race: Human
Class: Monk
Background: Urchin
Alignment: CN
3-5 Sentence Backstory: Born and raised as a farmer in a small village, morgan always loved going to the city and selling their crop, especially his father's special ale. But one wrong turn down an alley and he was whisked by figures in dark clothes. He was bound, gagged, and blindfolded, only feeling the back of the wagon he was in, and the occasional smack from one of the kidnappers for what seemed like weeks. One night, he was offloaded one day like a piece of cargo, and was thrown into a fight pit. He spent years in that fight pit, and eventually found a way out one night. Although beaten and broken, he vowed to return one day.
Personal Goals (So I can put in personal quests and such): To find his family, To find and end the smuggling ring.
(this is kind of a rough draft, I hope we can weave it more into the story, I've also got a Half Elf, Blood Hunter that might fit better into your campaign)
Thoughts on Role Playing: Love it have been play video games and book adventures of this sort for as long as I could read.
Time Zone: Eastern Time Zone (give me the time difference and promise I'll be punctual also super flexible schedule.)
Are you okay with mature content? Expect cursing, sexually suggestive content, uncomfortable situations: Yes without a doubt, it is one of the more major backbones of a believable story even if we're talking about fantasy.
(Character)
Name: Yone Renora
Race: Changeling
Class: Artificer
Background: Haunted One
Alignment: Lawful Neutral
3-5 Sentence Backstory: Generations of my family have been haunted by a strange apparition that vowed to never forgive my bloodline. Early on it was actively malicious but as time passed and with it my ancestors it became nothing more then a spectral prankster latched to us. Most believe me to be mad and not cursed yet I vowed to rid my family of this apparition no matter the views of my siblings or the so called professionals i put inquiries to, still I've only a singular clue to trace this curse an since have hunted monstrosities across many places all that I have as reference being a sizeable fur lined winter coat obviously from a soldier's final march, gifted to me by my mother before she had withered away. The village I hail from calls my family a blight, my siblings believe our mother was mad and our elder brother who's sacrifice allowed us to live on left me with a final warning "When it comes do not fuss or heed it's actions, you must end this generational blight." An so I have tried till this day to do so.
(Had a more fine tuned story but figured I should leave it a tad open for you to tie into the homebrew world itself.)
Personal Goals (So I can put in personal quests and such): Rid my changeling bloodline of a curse set upon it and bring my siblings back together as well as establish some trust in the changeling race.
I was wondering if maybe I did this all wrong and hoping for feed back, I was hoping to make an artificer that wasn't completely game breaking or just awkward to work into the setting so I chose to have many faces. I'm kidding but seriously the character you see was my first try at this and I would greatly appreciate any assistance.
Little bit of an explanation on why I went with changeling. My mother when she played growing up played as such and I grew up hearing about those fun sessions of hers figured it'd be a rather interesting nod to her time adventuring though she said that her group just stopped all of a sudden hints the withering mother bit.
Well, I'm interested...hopefully I can make something interesting that captures your attention.
Name: Mighty (when we get to know each other I'm fine sharing my IRL name))
Age: 28
D&D Experience: about a year or so of mixed experience in playing and dming
Thoughts on Role Playing: I'm partial to combat...but I never shy away from the prospect of losing oneself into a character
Time Zone: eastern time zone ((part of this application is the fact that depending on times we play, I may have small errands to run but nothing that would take longer then 15 min or so, the later the better))
Are you okay with mature content? Expect cursing, sexually suggestive content, uncomfortable situations: I have no issue with M content
(Character)
Name: Farris Rakel
Race: ((original concept is for him to be a high elf... but he can be something else if it fits the narrative better))
Class: Warforge Cleric
Background: up to discussion depending on world specifics
Alignment: lawful nuetral
3-5 Sentence Backstory:
(a lot of this requires a bit of extra information from your world but I'll generalize untill I know more))
Farris comes from a long line of clerics in service to a divine soul. Despite his families wish for him to join in line with them as disciplined members of the temple he always found in interest in creating and combat rather then submitting ones life to rotting away in said temple. His talents in forging and such made him unique, and as such he was given a vision from the Divine soul his family served that he was destined to forge a weapon destined to be used in defences if those who follow the divine. He travels now in search if blacksmithing knowledge to hone his craft.
Personal Goals (So I can put in personal quests and such): as stated he is interested in weapons and forging, and as part of this vision he needs to find rare materials in order to complete his task...
Dnd Experience: I'm still beginner, but I've been playing for around 6 months
Thoughts on RP: I actually love role-playing and tend to build role-play heavy characters because there's more to DnD than fighting and destroying monsters in my opinion.
Timezone: currently GMT, but I'll be moving into Central Time in early September.
Are you okay with mature content? Yeah, as long as it makes sense in the story line.
(Character)
Name: Luthien Berethryl
Race: Eladrin Elf
Class: Monk
Background:Sage
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
3-5 Sentence Backstory: When she was young, around 15, her parents sent her into a monastery outside of town. To her knowledge, this was to help further her knowledge and further her devotion to their religion. She was okay with this and studied everyday, eager to learn and take in new information. After a few years letters with her parents began to get shorter and less often, ultimately dropping off all together. She only threw herself more into her studies, ignoring the world around her and letting it pass by until she became an expert in her field to impress her parents. After 30 years of study, she decided to put her knowledge to use and sign up for the war effort in order to make an impressive name for herself and explore the world she's read so much about.
Personal Goals: She wants to find herself outside of a monastery and figure out why her parents decided to cut off communication, to figure out if they are safe. This can be tweaked and made better for the campaign to your liking to fit better into your story you plan to tell.

Living peaceful, drifting along.
Well, I'm interested...hopefully I can make something interesting that captures your attention.

Thoughts on Role Playing: I'm partial to combat...but I never shy away from the prospect of losing oneself into a character

Name: Ashlee
Age: 23

Thoughts on RP: I actually love role-playing and tend to build role-play heavy characters because there's more to DnD than fighting and destroying monsters in my opinion.
