I am looking for 1-3 more reliable players for a weekly game of 5e D&D over Roll20 that will begin within the next few weeks. I will be running the newly published Tomb of Annihilation campaign module. The game will be played on Saturdays from 8pm-12am EST. I do want to make sure that we start on time reliably, so I will be logged on to Roll20 around 7:30pm and you can join at any point after that. As long as we have 3 players by 8pm, the game will start promptly then. It's not a big deal if you're late or going to miss the game, just let me know ahead of time so that I can plan accordingly.
So far in the party we have a Rock Gnome Wizard with the Anthropologist background and a Lightfoot Halfling Rogue (not sure of the background). You are free to make a level one character with any of the options from the Player's Handbook, The Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide, and Volo's Guide. Please roll for stats using the 4d6, drop the lowest method. I will send you the link to the campaign here on D&D Beyond if you are sincerely interested in playing so that you can make a copy of your character on there for reference and for me to review.
I am a fairly experienced DM. My games tend to have a balance of seriousness and silliness, however neither are ever forced. I strive to make the game as immersive as possible and that requires a commitment from myself and all the players to stay focused while we are playing. Since the game is online and time is somewhat limited, I ask that non-game related banter be reserved for either before or after the game.
With all that being said, I want to make the game as fun as possible for my players! I enjoy making the world feel alive during exploration and travel sequences. I also love making encounters (combat or noncombat) dynamic and interesting. I try to make my games as cinematic as possible and I love when players try out unconventional ideas just because "it seemed cool." I do reward experience for more than just combat. I will reward players for quality roleplaying, completing tasks, and even creating art, stories, etc related to their characters or the party's adventures.
I am interested but must be up front that I am very new to this. In other words I am a total NOOB. But I have created two characters that I would like to take out and see what can be done with them. I have participated in F2F play but it was not with anyone with any serious knowledge or skill. So with that being said if you are in a position to bring someone new into the fold and allow for a little learning curve hit me up with a response here.
