I likely shouldn't do this, but I just finished listening to a podcast on the top-ten most dangerous DND monsters in the game. The ones that will kill characters with just a few bad rolls of the dice.
This inspired me to make a death house, where those ten most-dangerous monsters are what you have to face to escape.
Character generation
Roll for stats, always rerolling any ones. If you don't like them take standard array or point buy. Character level is 5th Any official race as well as UA is accepted, no homebrew. Same with class(es) any official or UA. Equipment is any standard gear is acceptable, no magical gear. You can have 3000 GP to spend as you like. You also can have 2 potions of healing, just basic potions.
How it will work. You will be placed in the house, and will need to fight your way through ten rooms. All enemies must be vanquished to move on to the next room. If we have a TPK we will start over, and people can make new characters, or reuse their original, their choice. we will try it again. This should expect to have a decent amount of player death, but it will be fun to see how it works out.
If this is at all interesting to you, please post your application below.

No backstory or background needs to be posted here. You can have them if you wish, but this is going to be a combat encounter, with little to no RP expected.
Pausing recruitment here for the moment. We have six victoms, I mean applicants, above, so we'll make sure they are all ready to go. If any of them don't wish to play, then I'll post an update here.

For many generations, the Darkhall family have served as Knights of the realm, forging strong ties within the Temple of Tyr. Raised within the faith from an early age, Darak's training and discipline have instilled within him an unwavering sense of duty and justice. A dark, long forgotten curse besets the Darkhall family, however. Their service and faith acting as atonement for the sins of their ancestors.
Trained in the arts of war by his father, Darak wields his family's ancestral blade "Onyx" into battle. A masterfully made longsword with a black blade, it is said to be cursed, but holds great power for any of the Darkhall bloodline that can unlock its true nature.
In loyal service to Tyr and the Realm, Darak acts as what is known as a Deep Warden. Those brave few that forever stand vigilant guard over the deadly entrances to The Underdark. Locked in eternal battle with the denizens of the Deep, the Wardens are all that stand between the lands of Men and the Monsters that lurk just underneath.
I am opening this up. We have a couple applications above. If I get interest, another group totaling 5 or 6 players, I will start a second Death House. Those who posted above are considered 'in' already, so we just need 3 or so more. I won't run with more than 6, so will cut off there again to get the second house going.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sounds like an awesome adventure!

Looks like we need a cleric so I'll dust off one of my favorites:
Tydir Stoneheart
Hill Dwarf
Life Domain Cleric
Spy
He's not just of the Stoneheart clan, he is/was Tydir Stoneheart, youngest son of the current Master of Stoneheart, Dronheld the Strong Tydir was never strong. Certainly not strong for a Dwarf, let alone for the son of Dronheld. But he was fast, and cunning and read everything he could ever find - admirable qualities all, just not admired by the Master of Stoneheart.
When word reached the Stonehearts that the Copperlocks had won the contract to mine some swampy land no one had heard of, Dronheld laughed at their foolishness. Then, once reports came back at the wealth flowing out of that swampy backward his mirth turned to rage. The Copperlocks had stolen that contract from the Stonehearts - or so Dronheld was convinced. Eager to prove his value to the clan and to his father, Tydir volunteered to go to Saltmarsh and find out the truth, just how much wealth was there, how the Copperlocks had won the grant from the Skotti, and how the Stonehearts could prove that they had been cheated of their due.
Since the shipwreck, Tydir has left all that behind him. He no longer cares for the petty squabbles of the rival clans, nor does he seek to prove his worth to his tyrannical father. The pursuit of material things holds no interest for him anymore - instead, he's determined to unlock the power he's been given and find out why he alone was saved.
The manipulations happened because something weird happened when I tried to link the character sheet... The actual ability scores have not been tampered with, but if the DM really wants, I can just switch to PB if chosen.

@DragonDenn, you could remove the recruiting tag. it's very confusing right now, I though this was still recruiting at first.
