Hi everyone. I am recruiting for my space campaign they are coming up on the end of tier 3. Looking to recruit one to two players. Played on discord. Rather active.
Standard array no multiclassing.
Preference for creative species (You can make up your own for the campaign and we can talk about special bonuses for your race that makes sense)
Preference for characters with at least one defined character quirk
Definitely a rule of cool, rules lawyers are going to hate me we homebrewed half the campaign because spell jammer was abysmal. Technology is run on magic, A spell slot being the standard unit of powering something, we call them tethers.
.... Anyway! I look forward to recruiting new players we are 13 levels in so if you're brand new to d&d probably not the best campaign to start in. Then again the group is incredibly welcoming and helpful if we have a Sci-Fi newbie dying to join I'm not going to say no
Hey this sounds interesting and I would be more than willing to play in a the higher tiers. My discord is @drcornwallis If you want me to join I can start workshopping a character to fit in the world once I have more details on the setting and what the rest of the party looks like. Thanks. Hope to here form
I'd like to do a Sea Elf (Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse version), class something other than a Cleric (been playing them for ages now). Was thinking a rogue mechanic type. Or monk if you already have a Rouge
I’ve been conceptualizing a bounty hunter that is a cephalopod race. Kinda like Squidward where he pairs up his tentacles for arms and legs and an approximation of humanoid look. Or maybe like Tentacular from Rumble
I love science fiction and have played many different systems over the years. I've run a 5e Spelljammer game, and I've backed WayStar (a 5e based Sci Fi game). I've been gaming since the 70's, and I dont' remember all the systems I've played. But I am experienced in D&D.
I think the strangest sci fi character I've ever played was a blob from a high gravity world. It mostly lived in a rigid space suit to give it an exoskeleton so it could walk and use human tools.
Another interesting race I came up with was basically a large worm. It was blind, mute, and deaf, but could sense electric currents, and had organic radar and radio as it's primary senses. This race developed the transistor before they developed the wheel. In human society, they would carry a radio so that they could hear and talk to others, and were usually accompanied by a robot.
Those were races I came up with, to give examples of how strange I can get while making my own race (while making sure they weren't broken for the game system).
But having read many hundreds of books, there are so many alien races that I could want to play...

I have toyed with this idea of sci fi D&d before as well and have about 35 years of D&d experience.
I’m spartachris on discord. I’d love to work on a character concept

Cats go Moo!
The closest thing we have to a rogue is a shady Goblin Artificer. No monks either.
what about magic items? Also assuming not cash rules for level (surely not 30K as suggested by the DMG lol).
Cats go Moo!
I'll let the DM answer that. The character creation rules get updated as the party levels up and I don't know what the current rules are.
Understood. I think I'll stick to Rogue :)

thinking he’s a bounty hunter of some kind.
