Character Concept: (Work-In-Progress)
He had been in the Whitestone Rifle Corp since he could hold a rifle. His parents were so proud. Two years ago his commander pulled him aside in secret and told he had been promoted/transferred to the Grey Hunters. Those two years were the hardest time of his life, but it was all worth it when the time came to build his custom weapon. He was so proud to name his new partner...
What’s one small heroic deed you’ve already accomplished?
While in the the Corps, he had once been assigned the duty of guarding an infamous council member. With his unit, they foiled an attempt on the council members life. That council member said they would never forgot his actions and the debt he now owed this young corpsmen.
Do you give your trust easily, or do people have to earn your trust?
Through most of his life he had been very open and trusting, but all that ended with the grewling training of the Grey Hunters. They taught him to not trust anyone and to always have a backup plan.
What’s one thing you want more than anything else?
To see a dragon
How will being an adventurer help you achieve it?
He hopes to come across one. Hopefully peacefully, but he's ready to defend the Corps.
What weird (non-magical) trinket do you have?
He has a special set of cleaning tools for his pistol. It was custom made just for his pistol and not other tool would work on it.
Desc: While he generally wears a mask, in private with those he trusts, he will show his face. In appearance, he takes after his mother mostly with his fathers silver scales replacing his hair. Scales accent his cool white elvin skin on his arms and legs. While he looks more elven, he gained no magical abilities save resistance to charm. He did gain his fathers cold breath. Living in an more elven area he did pick up the bow and sword, which he is grateful for.
In Summary:
Age: follows more his mother Size: while short for a Dragonborn he is taller and bigger than many elves at 6' 0" 200lbs Breath Weapon: Cold 15' cone CON Save/ once per short rest No ColdResistance Language: Draconic and Elvish Darkvision: 60' Trance: Mom tried to teach me and I can do a 6 hour medication instead of sleep Elf Weapon Training: Longsword, shortsword, longbow, shortbow Cantrip: no magic Vengeful Assault: Once per short rest, when you take damage from a creature in range of a weapon you are wielding, you can use your reaction to make an attack with the weapon against that creature.
I've had an idea bouncing around for awhile for a Levistus Tiefling/Fathomless Warlock I've wanted to try out. Also very comfortable with a slower pace; that's the whole reason I prefer PbP in the first place, is life gets crazy sometimes.
What’s one small heroic deed you’ve already accomplished? Abandoned as a child, I grew up in a small, un-friendly corner of the world and had to scrape to survive. Eventually, I found myself working as a sailor on a small shipping rig, surrounded mostly by other outcasts. In a pirate raid, I rather impulsively swung myself over to the pirate ship and managed to heavily damage their sails, allowing my comrades to escape. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it back to my own ship, and was stabbed and tossed overboard by the pirates, left for dead
Do you give your trust easily, or do people have to earn your trust? Definitely earn it. Especially given that I think most people would not understand my motivations for the path I'm currently on, I tend to keep to myself and not disclose much about how I ended up where I am or what I'm up to
What’s one thing you want more than anything else? How will being an adventurer help you achieve it? The only way I survived my previous ordeal was through being contacted by an unnamed entity in the deep ocean, seemingly only able to reach out to me because of my connection to Levistus. He saved my life in exchange for a promise that I would try to find his prison and open it; I simply want to be free of this bargain so that I can go back to obscurity(Note: I don't imagine my patron as the actual center of the campaign/the alyxian dude, but think it could make an opportunity to form a connected story)
What weird (non-magical) trinket do you have? A small shaving mirror. It was a present from a sailor friend; I've never grown facial hair and didn't understand/was fascinated by it. It was in my pouch and survived by time adrift at sea. and I hold on to it out of sentimentality
I can roll up a character sheet/start picking abilities and stuff if you think the concept would be a good fit! Happy to rework however needed though
So the reason for the upfront disclosure, is that my wife has special needs. Some days it’s pretty easy some days not. That’s all. question about elf Dragonborn, which presents the Dragonborn or the elf?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Name: Jorie Laeme
Race: Eladrin
Class: Cleric (Twilight Domain)
Background: Hermit
Stats:
71011141413
Backstory: Jorie barely remembers the life he lead back in the Fey Realm. Lost is an all too familiar feeling for him; lost his way home, lost his family, and lost in this strange new world. Running from some unknown monster in the Fey Realm, Jorie tried to hide under a massive tree, roots thick and gnarled, offered him a way to survive. However, a planar portal, hidden within tree roots, split this Eladrin's string of fate, and he fell.
Waking up in a strange land with no knowledge of how to get back, he managed to make a living just outside a town. He keeps to himself. Mostly venturing out at nights, as he prays to the Moonweaver to show him the way home.
What’s one small heroic deed you’ve already accomplished?
Jorie was the caretaker of his family, protector of his younger siblings. A horrendous monster of vines and barbs attacked his family, Jorie distracted the monster and led it away, saving his family.
Do you give your trust easily, or do people have to earn your trust?
Jorie does not trust easily, however, he does seem to trust people who pray to the Prime Dieties.
What’s one thing you want more than anything else? How will being an adventurer help you achieve it?
Jorie wants to get back home. Adventuring may lead him there, or provide a way to get there himself.
What weird (non-magical) trinket do you have?
A keepsake from home, a carved wooden flower with 5 petals. Each petal represents his siblings.
Backstory: Theo is the youngest of the Alazar family, a pretty influential noble family. However, due to his personality and complete lack of care for his position, Theo quickly became the black sheep of his family. He didn't mind, though, and would regularly come up with new ideas for weapons instead of attending to his studies. One day, Theo realized that his family acted like he didn't exist, and wouldn't care if he left. And that is exactly what Theo did. Using money "borrowed" from his parents (they wouldn't realize it anyways, nor would they care), Theo moved away and started apprenticing at a blacksmith's shop. After several years, Theo worked as partners with his mentor, though Theo occasionally goes on adventuring quests to try out new weapon ideas.
What’s one small heroic deed you’ve already accomplished? Theo helped save a village from a gang of goblins. However, when Theo tried to use a new prototype for a multi-barrel rifle, it jammed. Theo instead used it like a club, scaring off the goblins.
Do you give your trust easily, or do people have to earn your trust? Theo is pretty trusting of others, one of the reasons he didn't fit in with his noble family ("An Alazar trusts people only as far as they can throw them!" Theo's father Claudius regularly said)
What’s one thing you want more than anything else? How will being an adventurer help you achieve it? Theo wants to create and spread a new weapon idea, and to make the smithy he works at famous. Adventuring will help him fine-tune his ideas and test out weapons in the world.
What weird (non-magical) trinket do you have? Theo has a cube-like puzzle made with six pieces, and looks almost impossible to solve. However, with very precise movements (almost 70, which Theo has memorized) the six pieces can be taken apart (and put back together doing the moves in reverse).
All good! Just wanted to double check; that legitimately wasn't meant to be a pointed question, I just wanted to ask to know if I should keep looking for a group - I'm pretty low stakes when it comes to this stuff, we're all just here to have fun. Hope your today is better and looking forward to playing with you all!
