Hello all! This is a thread to asses interest in one on one campaigns with me as DM and to recruit for said campaigns. As long as there's interest, I'll keep recruitment open, but note that I will only run games with so many people at a time. That being said, let's get into what I'm looking for in applications:
Character details (Don't have to be final, you might want to change something, but a rough outline or idea of what you want to play): including name, race, class, background and Ability Scores (rolled).
What Adventure You Want to Do: This could be a published one (such as Out of the Abyss or Hoard of the Dragon Queen) or maybe you want to be surprised a bit, in which case I could whip up a homebrew campaign. If you choose the latter, than a general idea of where to start would be nice, something detailing what you want the campaign to be about. A style, Sword and Sorcery, Intrigue, Swashbuckling, etc., or something you would like to see as the main villain, Dragons, Mind Flayers, Devils, or whatever, or something you would like to do, perhaps fight in a war, or somewhere you would like to go (maybe you've always wanted to visit Limbo and embrace that chaotic stew of junk).
With that, I hope people will be interested and apply soon. Happy adventuring!

Characters: Lar-Dun Vanthaft - Human Warlock - Yawning Portal with Artymis, Moril - Tiefling Sorcerer - Dragondenn's Dragonlords, Paquinal Dalanthan - Eladrin Wizard - ShadowThorn's Out of the Abyss
Campaigns: Rod of Nankon, Darkness Reborn, Dungeonverse, Alycron - A Cosmic Horror West Marches (Co-DMing), One-on-Ones
I DM a one-on-one game on Discord with a friend and find them really fun and challenging as a newbie DM at the same time. I'd definitely be interested if you're open to such a game. Always love playing bards, or perhaps a rogue? RP with some sword and sorcery. Happy with published or homebrew - but the idea of building a town is something I'd love to play if you're looking for ideas :)
I'd love to see my Forest gnome Sage Chronourgist get some game time. Hoard of the Dragon Queen sounds fun (I've never played any published adventures)
As for name, I introduce you to Gimble Aeselforth Renee Bibble Longsmoth Ender, or Garble as most know him.
i always loved my people. but one day, when i was 13, the Githyanki gith prepared to attack my people with hundreds more troops than we could ever muster. so i did the only thing i could, the unforgivable, i went to the mind flayers for help. i searched the land for the mind flayer, and finally found them, and asked for audience with the elder brain. after telling the elder brain my conundrum, the elder brain said "i will give you part of my power to defeat your enemys in return for your service." i thought long and hard about it, and decided it was worth it and took the deal. when the Githyanki attacked, i killed them all with my new powers. after that, i expected to be a hero to my people, but instead they, hating and fearing the very thought of the mind flayers, banished me. nut my mission was accomplished, i had saved my people. i went searching for something to do with my powers and found a town where a man in a tavern, in return for some money, told me that i could became an adventurer, so thats what i did.
Campaign Details:
World: if you have a good, very in depth homebrew world that would be great, but only if it is VERY in depth, and its ok if not. if not, i like wildmount and the forgotten realms.
Campaign: i have a few ideas for a homebrew campaign, 1. basically opposite rise of tiamat. i need to bring tiamat back. would probably a lot of combat and exploration. 2. the king/emperor was assassinated by a band, and i need to find the band, and destroy it before the king/emperor's heir is killed. probably mostly intrigue, detective work, and a little combat and dungeon crawl one i find the band and am trying to destroy it. i also would like playing wildmount dark star or out of the abyss, although the latter is at the bottom of the list, because I've read part of the book. which ever of those sounds best to you :)
Re-rolling one 11s: 6556 = 13 Re-rolling the other 11 (I like the 10 so I'm keeping that): 5331 = 18
EDIT1: World/Campaign Details:
Haven't yet figured out the exact character I want to play but probably a either a mercenary, an explorer or an assassin. Either way, it's going to be some type of Fighter/Rogue multiclass. Either that or an Eladrin Wizard with no multiclassing For worlds, I really enjoy homebrew worlds over premade ones. Out of the premade ones though, I like Dungeon Crawls a lot so if I were to pick something, I'd probably pick White Plume Mountain.
On the topic of homebrew worlds, again, I like dungeon crawls so probably playing a wandering mercenary who is sent on different adventures by different clients. Style is Sword and Sorcery. For things that happen in the world or villains, I'm usually good with anything except for political intrigue, murder mysteries and fighting in wars. As for a place in DnD I always wanted to visit, that would have to be Space.
EDIT2:
Tweaking ability scores since I can reroll ones once.
I want to go to the Astral Sea. I know just a little about it, and it sounds super weird/interesting with the Githyanki pirates, and dead god carcasses, and mind flayers.
I just want to explore it, and find interesting facets of its people and places.
I think I want to play a ranger? Not sure, I usually let my rolls fill out my character design, and I’m not sure how to be prepared for a one-on-one adventure
Characters would start at level 1 unless I deemed an adventure more difficult. Since it's only one player, some encounters might be a lot harder than if you had five characters, so I'd either scale them back or let characters start higher.

I'd rather not start level 1 cuz my sub is level 2. (i know its your choice). wilmouint dark star is a higher level start i think, and the bringing back tiamat, would probably be high level.
Also, would anyone express interest in a homebrew I have been working on for a while? The basic concept is that you as the character are one of the first humanoids in the world, so there is no civilization to call home. You are accompanied by a group of NPC's that comprise the rest of the humanoid population here, and from there it's similar to a West Marches campaign, where you explore the wilderness, find monster lairs and dungeons, and even establish the first civilization. If you're interested in doing that if I were to pick you, let me know. I would still take into consideration the campaigns you have expressed interest in, but this would also be thrown into the running. Thanks.

I'd be up for something like that. I have a bard (college of glamour) that I rolled for something else that didn't get accepted. I'll make adjustments and post it here.

Taztrin - warforged - Wizard (plan is bladesinger) - Sage
Taztrin is meant to assist in preparing this world for habitation. He’s strong, and intelligent. His abilities are well suited to environs of unknown danger. Spells for changing and learning about the landscape, combat abilities to pick up the slack. He’s dedicated to preparing the way for others.
Finally got the character done after much debating.
Character Details:
Character Name: Mio Shimura Race: Variant Human Class: Rogue (Planning to go Thief Rogue 9/Champion Fighter 11) STR:13 DEX:18 CON:18 INT: 14 WIS: 14 CHA: 10
Background: Mercenary (Modified Criminal/Spy)
Mio came from a large joint family. Her parents lived with two of her uncles and their wives and children. She grew up with her sister and her cousins. Out the group of 5 she is the second oldest. Out of all of them though, she was closest to her cousin Kyouko and younger sister Miku. Her dad was a business man but he had already suffered greatly in business by the time she was little. They had to sell their estate and land to move to a smaller house. When she turned 15, she had to start work to pay rent and support the family. She started with small tasks but it wasn't making enough to support a large family of 11. So she sought out more lucrative and less legal means of income. This came in the form of her moving out to live alone in a very much cheaper place and taking up mercenary work. She keeps her own expense to a minimum, buying only things that would improve her mercenary career like better armor and weapons, the cheapest food and drink, the cheapest place to stay and she sends the rest of her earnings to her family. Her father had spiraled into depression after losing his business and old estate and have taken up alcoholism and gambling, where most of Mio's money is spent. Her uncles and aunts, though not alcoholics or gamblers, are unemployed as well and make nothing. Miku is 14 and has expressed interest in joining her sister in mercenary work but Mio doesn't let her do it because she wants Miku to have a better adolescence and future than herself. Kyouko 22, is a minstrel, going from tavern to tavern performing songs and poems for money. She financially contributes to the family but she does not make enough to match the expense and she has a tendency to buy things she wants first before thinking of what others want. Her two youngest cousins, Keiichi and Kyo are each 12 and 3 respectively and don't work. Her mother tries to keep Mio in the dark about where all the money she sends go but Mio knows that the vast majority of what she sends is spent on drinks and cards by her dad. She pretends not to know however. In spite of all this hardship, Mio has a optimistic, cheery and friendly personality. She was always the optimistic and cheerful type but in recent years, she has become even more so as a form of coping mechanism so that she doesn't have to stare at the reality of her family's economic situation. She just goes on about her day, doing what she does. She has a trusted contact (Criminal Contact) from whom she gets small bits of information relating to her job and more importantly, the person she relies on to have her earnings reach her family back home securely.
Appearance: Mio stands 5ft 7 inches tall and weighs 121 lbs. She has an athletic but slim physique. She is dressed in all black from black shirts and pants to black boots, gloves and armor. She also wears a black mask that covers the lower half of her face. She has brown eyes and brown bob-cut hair. She has a fair, smooth skin with a slight bronze tint. There is a certain kind of youthful energy to her. She is very animated, often flailing her hands all over the place while talking. Her voice is bubbly, energetic and high-pitched but not harsh on the ears.
It's remained mostly unchanged from what I said in the last post. I still like dungeon crawls and swords and sorcery style of world. A mercenary who goes on different jobs from different people is still a very appealing idea. Though picking a pre-made campaign, with this character, I would actually like Lost Mines over White Plume Mountains. Though a homebrew world is still more appealing.
For being the first humans populating and creating civilization though... I don't think that fits this character very much. If you want to run it, I would be more than down for it but then I'd have to use a different character for that. Maybe a Goliath Barbarian or a Tabaxi Fighter or a huma Eldritch Knight... I'm not quite sure about that.
