More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver’s Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to its mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power. Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great forge (called the Forge of Spells), where magic items could be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town of Phandalin (pronounced fan-duh-lin) prospered as well. But then disaster struck when orcs swept through the North and laid waste to all in their path reclaiming hunting and burial grounds.
A powerful force of orcs reinforced by mercenary human, elf and goblinkin wizards attacked Wave Echo Cave. Human wizards fought alongside their dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern. Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of Wave Echo Cave was lost.
For centuries, rumors of buried riches and mystic lands have attracted treasure seekers and opportunists to the area around Phandalin, but no one has ever succeeded in locating the lost mine.
In the last four decades, settlers from the cities of Neverwinter and Waterdeep have begun the hard work of reclaiming the ruins of Phandalin. The new settlement is home now to farmers, woodcutters, fur traders, and prospectors drawn by stories of gold and platinum in the foothills of the Sword Mountains. The arrival of a white dragon threatens to destroy all that they’ve worked to rebuild.
Phandalin is now a rough-and-tumble frontier town in many ways.
Greetings and Salutations!
We are looking for two or three players to join our ongoing campaign in the "DragonDragon of Icespire Peak"/"Lost Mine of Phandelver" arena of the Forgotten Realms Sword Coast.
Players are level one currently.
We ask that you post once every 48 hours, more is welcome but not required. If issues come up communicate to the thread Out Of Character (OOC) or via private message so we can adjust. Work/home gets busy for everyone.
We are here to have fun and play through a long treasured plane while building some new connections.
This game might move a bit slow. That should be expected.
This game is heavily RP leaning on the published guides and adventure hooks a lot, but open to "choose your own adventure" as a party.
Please post these details with your application to the game:
Name: Race: Class: Background: Backstory: It does not need to be long, but enough to give an idea of your character.
All sourcebooks are available, but we may veto any race I feel doesn't fit, we are pretty flexible though. No Homebrew for these applications. UA material is an option but will be reviewed.
I would be happy to run through a creation session with you if you are new and interested.
Use the Standard array or the points buy option for abilities.
Made it partially through the lost mines using the character before the DM had stuff come up. I can post daily or more frequently, past experience with rping before. Currently run a game of my own in person and have played in a few short games.
Name: Eraminus
Race: Human
Class: Fighter
Background: Soldier
Backstory: Eraminus was the youngest son of a farmer with one too many mouths to feed. He was handed over to the faith as an infant and raised among monks and clerics, but never fully took to the theological aspects of faith. His upbringing came with plenty of chores for him to do, hardening his body while a formal education sharpened his mind. He grew fond of the Paladins who occasionally visited, watching them spar. Upon reaching adulthood, he left the monastery to find his own way in the world. He found himself enlisting in a militia for a lesser lord. He was taught how to fight while in the militia and became rather proficient at it. When the campaign ended for the season he found himself with a purse full of coin but was out a job. He now aims to join with a band of mercenaries or adventures to make a name for himself.
at the age of 12 she ran away arriving at theMonastery Of Truth
as a sister at the monastery she lead a sheltered life
one night while meditating in the expansive garden area she met an elf named Sytharyn Winterheart
they met together every night for many months
Angelynne fell in love with Sytharyn not realizing he was actually a drow elf
after many months together they shared a night of passion
a few nights later Sytharyn was discovered and chased away by the guards
Angelynne tried for the longest time to hide the relationship but within a few short months she could no longer hide the bump in her belly
she looked every night for Sytharyn while avoiding the guards but never saw him before giving birth to Valen
one group of sisters lead by Thorna wanted to throw the half breed from the tower but the child was spared by Matron Duronomus
Angelynne took the child to the garden every night for months in hopes Sytharyn would be there
Valen was almost 6 months old before Sytharyn returned and held his child for the first and only time
Sytharyn had barely handed Valen back to Angelynne before he was struck in the shoulder with an arrow
in an instant the area around them became dark and when the light returned Sytharyn had disappeared and only a pool of blood remained
the guards searched for a long time and into the daylight but never found his body
again Angelynne visited the garden nightly and it wasn't until the guards found a body weeks later that she stopped
she fell into a deep depression before one night throwing herself from her tower balcony
Thorna again pushed to have the child removed from the monastery
Matron Duronomus stepped in to save Valen again allowing him to grow up in his mothers former room and teaching him as long as he stayed out of trouble
as Valen grew he quickly learned to read and write both common and elvish
Still a bit to add on but that is where I am at so far

The tribe survived by hunting game then selling the meat and furs to the near by villages. Soon after with the blessing of the tribe Wolfsong left to explore the world sending back trophies and stories of his hunts.
Name: Tyrina Thorngauge Race: Lightfoot Halfling Class: Cleric Background: Acolyte Backstory: Tyrina, or TT as she is known, is a cheerful, friendly halfling. She is polite and always has a kind word for her fellow people. She grewup in the city of Neverwinter, daughter of fairly well off merchents. At a young age she became fascinated with the passing from the land of the living to the land of the dead when her grandfather as he was dying with his last words spoke of seeing a vast field of the most beautiful flowers he had ever seen.
She began reading all she could of the accounts of people passing and what the afterlife might be. During her studies she learned of Kelemvor, god of the dead, and his teachings that death was a natural part of life and should not be feared as long as it was understood. She pledged her life's work to that idea, helping those that are crossing over both before and after it happens.
Name: Echo Race: Air Genasi Class: Monk Background: Folk Hero Backstory: I had a happy childhood with loving parents and eleven siblings.I became a folk hero because I have always stood up for those who are weaker than I am. I became a monk because I was wild and undisciplined as a youngster, but then I realized the error of my ways. I applied to a monastery and became a monk as a way to live a life of discipline. My father went missing on one of his missionary trips as a priest, I have left home to see what I can find out about his disappearance.

What classes are the current PCs?
Thank you for asking.
You would be joining a monk Aarakocra and a rogue elf.
There were other party members who became helper NPCs due to life.
I think the shifter barbarian and halfling cleric previously posted make sense.
The human fighter and the monk half-drow may work too. Especially with their motivations presented.
Every party doesn't need a sorcerer or wizard, right?
I think I will close the thread and work with the first four to bring them into the adventure.
