War. That is what the world of Ionra has only known for the past two centuries. What started as a trade dispute between two countries escalated into a war that engulfed the globe. Other countries were inevitability drawn into the conflict as they took sides. Those that remained neutral were invaded and conquered by the opposing sides. Other countries room advantage of the situation and expanded their borders. Once, the verdant continents of Ionra were filled with life. Now, smoking ruins and ravaged landscapes smoulder in their place. Nearly two-thirds of the planet is now scorched with arcane power and littered with the broken bodies and weapons of fallen soldiers. The planet was dying, and both sides realized the folly of the war. Putting aside their rivalry (sort-of), they ended the war and began to try to discover a way to reverse the damage they have dealt. Together, they constructed a gateway to Ionra's moon, Khaliad.
Khaliad is the same size as Ionra and is packed with life. The gateway formed in the lush and vibrant jungles near the equator. Near the coast, life of all kinds flourish in the steamy environment. Pleased at their success, the rulers of Ionra sent a small group of people through the gate with supplies to build an outpost. They built their outpost and explored the surrounding land. Three months later when the planetary hates aligned, the arcane gateway opened once again and brought back the explorers. With them, they brought news of a planet full of life and plenty of room to move people of Ionra to Khaliad. Within a year, the small outpost of of Kigiis on Khaliad grew into a large village as more and more people came through the gate every three months. Parts of the surrounding jungle was cleared away to make room for the expanding town when they first met the inhabitants of Khaliad, the lizardfolk. Primitive and simple, their tribes were pushed of their land by superior magic and weaponry. Tensions have been high since.
The rulers back on Ionra are seeking brave souls who are willing to scout out the alien and beautiful world of Khaliad. You have volunteered for your reasons, whether it be the gold, a chance for a new life, or whatever you may. With a flash of white flames, a column of arcane power blazes through the space between the new worlds as you make your way to Khaliad. People bustle through the unpaved streets, heading to do their various tasks around the industrious, town-in-progress. Away from the ocean, a thick jungle dominates the landscape with mountains obstructing the horizon. With contract in your hand, welcome to the jungle.

The rival countries were called Amman and Torvis. They argued over who and control over an important trade route. As money was involved, arguments became heated. Ammon won the argument and in a fit of rage, Torvis sunk several of Ammon's ships. Ammon declared war, and its allies joined in the conflict. The same happened with Torvis. Skipping to the intro, both countries and their allies signed a peace treaty at the Convention of Tears. Still angry with each other, they worked together and built the gate. We can work out more details of needed.
Races of Khaliad
The lizardfolk are the dominant species of the jungle. They have a feud with the grung, but the settlers haven't discovered that yet. Think of the the lizardfolk as the Native Americans when they encountered settlers from Europe. Other than that, the bestial humanoids live on Khaliad in their primitive tribes
If you want to know something else, let me know in your application.
Backstory: Fenron grew up in the last bastions of nature in Ammanian territory. He grew up in one of the last remaining forests, Eltaria. Eltaria is teeming with unique flora and fauna, although it was slowly being overtaken by logging. His druid mother instilled a love of nature within him from an early age. He grew up in a very small community of forest dwelling folk, whose main exports was mostly magical items such as staves, wands, and cloaks for the Ammanian war mages. At some point in his late teens, he was called to serve in the Ammonian army. Despite her resistance, his mother was forced to let him go. Fenron excelled as a scout deep behind enemy lines, picking off his enemies silently from afar, or dangerously close. He returned home after the signing of the Convention of Tears to find his home absolutely ravaged by logging and Torvisian assault. Whatever wasnt cut down was burnt to ashes. Only a single tree remained in the spot of his mother's home. He was shaken to his core by this loss. His friends and family were all gone, none remained. He promised himself that he wouldnt let it happen again. Naturally when he heard tales of the untouched and pristine lands in Khaliad, he couldn't resist. He took the contract, despite his wariness of the settlers. He ventured to Khaliad to ensure that Khaliad's forests and sentient species who inhabit them don't have to experience the loss he had endured.

Name: Gellendri Treesong
Class: Druid/Circle of the Spores
Background: Sage
Race: Wood/elf
Backstory: Gellendri used to be a recluse. She was content living in the woods by herself where she could conduct naturalistic experiments on the trees and fungi that surrounded her home. This was what made her happy, finding new ways to create and harness life through nature. Unfortunately her peaceful serenity will eventually be taken away from her as the seemingly endless war that plagued Ionra reached her sanctuary. She chose no sides during the war, seeking only to preserve nature wherever she could. However it was hopeless, it was beyond her to be able to stop something as catastrophic as the death throes of a planet. With the announcement of peace Gellendri finally saw some ray of hope. This ray of hope grew as news of a combined effort to find a cure for the planet seems to have become the main priority. Unfortunately there would be no direct solution. But, with the discovery of Khaliad, Gellendri did not lose hope. Perhaps she could find the solution there and Ionra may yet be saved. She heads off to volunteer and become part of the expedition headed to the unexplored planet of Khaliad.

Backstory - Sam is an urbanite, bouncing from city to city. He has always been a wanderer never finding roots in any one place. He has traveled through Ammon and Torvis seemingly unnoticed for years. His craft, swindler and deceiver. He fancies a tavern late in the evening that allows for a crowd in need of a show. With his lute and his voice, he woos the patrons with a song telling tales of olden days (aimed to whichever land the audience seems to be in majority). He is a wild card, but always seems to come out unscathed before relocating to another city.
His most recent stop has been [enter city name here] where the gateway resides. He has heard rumors of increased departures to Khaliad and aimed to gain a few more gold, or maybe catch a free ride to the new land. Either way, this was home for now. Before finding a place to change clothes, Sam stopped at a tavern, like usual, to grab a drink and surveil the scene. The barkeep came out from the back room, saw his face, and turned immediately around and left. "Odd fellow" he thought. He came back out with 2 pieces of parchment and a tankard of ale. "On the house. I've been hold that drawing and that blank roll for weeks. Hope it does something for ye." he says. He takes a swig and open both rolls only to find a picture of his handsome mug on one. The other flashed to reveal a note telling me to "come through the gateway and claim what is rightfully yours".
He rolled up both and placed them in his pocket before finishing his ale. Before he left, he pulled out a deck of cards, shuffled and through 2 down on the bar. He evaluated for a moment, and scooped them back in the deck and in his pocket before heading out to the gateway. As he came through into Khaliad, he came through with several other half-elves, like himself. Never seen so many at one time before. Who knows what that could mean, but anyways, off to new adventures, right?!

Sure.
The reason why I left the world information somewhat vague is because who ever joins will be a DM and will be able to make parts of the world. I didn't want to hog all the fun :)
Also, since I have no content unlocked, would the person with the most stuff unlock mind creating the campaign invite thing and share the content with the less fortunate? All the stuff I own are physical copies.

Class: Monk -
Path of the Kensei
Ability scores Ability scores: 14167101411
Background : Folk Hero
Backstory: Frizzle spent his youth like all of his folk, trying to outdo his peers. He was poor at numbers but excelled in physical tests. He would sometimes (often) need help in his studies. His instructors spent many hours with him after other students went home. To pay for this time, he did many chores about the school.
One day he saw an older teacher doing something that looked like a dance. He found it amusing and tried to copy the movements. The old frog enticed Frizzle into copying the moves saying it would help focus his mind. Years of study and hard work made Frizzle quite adept at this dance.
Frizzle, still not the greatest thinker was always called upon when things needed doing or if the village was threatened. He gained a reputation as the village defender. There was a great discussion among the elders when the portal opened. Who should they send? Why Frizzle? What if WE need him!? Frizzle himself settled the matter. He would go and make the village proud. He was completely unaware that his greatest rival in the village convinced him this was a good idea in order to get rid of him.

Who knows what that could mean, but anyways, off to new adventures, right?!

i dont have a lot of time, as i am DMing multiple play by posts, so can i just write what is motivating my character and a couple sentences about before he was an adventure?
I am an average mathematics enjoyer.

DM- Azalin's Doom
DM- Surviving the Unsurvivable
i would but sadly i cannot (i font have content sharing). whats the problem if you have physical copies though? (i have a few, and none on DDB)

Character name: Frizzle
Race: Grung
Class: Monk -
Path of the Kensei
Ability scores Ability scores: 14 16 7 10 14 11
