Your employer Kaz Stagwell and leader of the gang the Dregs, you're trying to move up the ranks, simply needs something retrieved for him. Something important. Only trouble is, it belongs to someone else. Someone who'd rather not part with it.
That person is Viola Sheridan, better known as 'the Virago'. Viola is a rather successful human businesswoman here in port city Zozobra. The city crisscrossed with canals and crawling with rival gangs also has an eye on the Virago's business. She buys and sells exotic curiosities from all the far-flung corners of the world, mostly on the black market. Oh, and she's really good at money laundering, too, which the Dregs would know; they've used her extensively in the past. Had a bit of a falling-out in recent months, though. The Dregs invited her to join them, but Viola wasn't interested, and with her business growing the way it was-- well, the Dregs prefer people they can control. And by the way, if you're by any chance wondering how she came by the moniker "the Virago," she earned it. Sheridan is as ruthless as a green dragon and twice as cunning. A visiting merchant once tried to get the drop on her and steal her wares. She ripped his arms off without lifting a finger. But a mark is a mark, and Stagwell wants something specific. Earlier this year, Viola acquired an emerald as big as a cantaloupe: Sygmat's Eye. Priceless. That is a substantial amount of capital that the Dregs could bend to its purposes. That's where you guys come in.

“But no living man am I! You look upon a woman...You stand between me and my lord and kin. Begone, if you be not deathless! For living or dark undead, I will smite you, if you touch him.” ― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King
20 years, as a youth and young adult. Just learning 5e these past few months, following a 15 year hiatus. I’ve been playing mouse guard and Star Wars RPGs with my son for 5 years now, but we are turning our attention to D&D. This character concept is basically a new iteration of my Star Wars Archaeologist, in a galaxy far, far away; I know this character well, and can easily play her role in the party. I should add that I have about 5 years experience with the PBP format, as both player and GM, in the Star Wars game.
I’ll start with the worst. It is creating myriad character concepts, rolling stats, writing backstories... just to be ghosted by DMs on this site, with no explanation, before (or shortly after) the game even starts. My best? Discovering that my ten year old son loves the game as much as I have. He struggles with reading stories, maintaining focus, keeping up with what is going on. Even comics and graphic novels. We discovered he loves reading the D&D rule books, reading about creatures and magic items. This is awesome. When I started playing in the 80s, it was the devil’s game, but as a dad now- well, it’s the best thing, really.

Best/worst DnD moments to date: worst was more just funny sorta, played a one shot with some family and we fought a few zombies, I charged in took one out got all excited (first dnd game) and the DM asks "what's your ac?" Uhhhhh.... So I tell him and he rolls, now mind you I'm lvl 3 so hp is so bad but I didn't have the best in our group. He homebrewed these zombies so when you kill them without using magic they because walking ichor bombs, it exploded doing 2d10 damage to me which then cause the one on the other side of me to explode, I went down almost died cause how much damage I took due to a crit. Healer gets me up to 6hp cause we didn't know what we exactly were doing. Another zombie charges me, grapples and explodes...needless to say my first player death ended in a massive looking black tar pit of ichor! Lol
Best would have to be when trying to stealth though a keep, rolling a nat 1 in a stealth, getting seen by guards I was sneaking past and then rolling a nat 20 on persuasion by telling them "oh I'm just house keeping!" and going about my day as if nothing in the world had happened. It was glorious!

He chuckles at his own joke and stands up tall to a solid even 4 feet tall. "I grew up around the streets, smiling for what I wanted, fighting for what I needed. "I can tell you that growing up ain't easy for even you long legs, but when you are smaller you can get away with a heck of alot more, especially if you lay on the charm!"
Tyril grins and leans against the wall with a half-cocked grin and a quick wink with his green eyes. "Kaz found me when I was just about 16, he saw that my charms got me in the door and when that fails..." Ability scores: 121115161514
Born to a Merchant family, Ron was upwardly mobile and seemingly had it all made. Encouraged by his family to study music he had a natural talent with they Lyre...however...he became addicted to adrenaline, the adrenaline involved in night escapades. Often involving taking things that don't belong to him. Disgraced and outcast from his family, he makes a living playing when he can, and occasionally doing a job with the Dregs.
World traveler. Will be a couple weeks in Asia than back central US time.
Played a campaign with a Character named Nogard Noegnud, a dark elf figher. No one realized it was Dungeon Dragon spelled backwards until the end during a TPK.

Flexible and concise backstory: Leola comes from a po-dunk farming village, though her father did not. Was playing make believe chasing nargles by the lakeside with her little brother and didn't watch him properly. He drowned and when she dragged him to shore, the young girl panicked and fled. Eventually she was taken in by a group of thieves at the edge of the city that had her use her "poor little halfling girl" schtick to cry and get people to lower their guards before robbing them. It wasn't so bad for a while until her eyes got too big for her hands and she stole something too valuable from the wrong person. A magical tome from some sort of rich snob. And so Leola ran again, this time falling in with the Dregs. They would make sure she wasn't found...for a price.
How long have you played DnD?: A little over two years.
Best/worst DnD moments to date. Best moment: So many to choose from. But I'd say the best was probably when my favorite character (Tiefling Druid/Tempest Cleric) retired. She was already level 20 (along with the rest of the party), had married her NPC Goliath love and had become pregnant with twins. There was a large ceremony and big shebang when she gave birth involving the clan's storm giant deity blessing the children and half the party declaring that they were godparents. Was a good send-off and she was happy to stay on her mountain and be a house-wife / shaman. Worst Moment: Party was loosely hired to oversee some festival shipping and didn't even try to investigate the many barrels being moved about, assuming they were just alcohol. The barrels were filled with chemically / magically altered gas that originated from a black dragon, strategically placed all over Waterdeep and detonated all at once. They couldn't catch the person responsible because they were too fast and they couldn't help save very many people "because the DM said so" even though mechanically, we could have helped out a little at least. Made sense that one of the party stayed behind because they could get out the easiest but DM forced us to let two pivotal NPCs stay behind and then of course they got trapped "for dramatic effect" ....

Name - Graham Tooles Class - Rogue/Phantom(hoping to multiclass to monk/astral self once it's permitted)(changed due to the need for a rogue) Race - Human Stats - See above post, 9111414139 Flexible and concise backstory Graham will never fail a job again. Because he's failed before, and he knows the price. a decade ago, he convinced a couple of his mates attempted to help him rob a magical item shop. However, they happened to forget that someone selling powerful magical artifacts probably has some of said powerful magical artifacts dedicated to protect their wares. His fellow thieves were all killed, blown to smithereens, and his left hand and forearm were lost to a protective magical trap. His right hand was lost as the punishment for thievery, after he was discovered. Handless, helpless, and left for dead on the streets after serving his time, Graham still didn't give up. He was the only one of his friends left, even though he was the on who got them all killed in the first place, and he had to go on living, if not for himself, then for them. So he continued his miserable life, despite all the problems that typically accompany having no hands. And each week, for years, he never failed to visit the unmarked graves of his fallen comrades, paying his respects and apologizing for his idiocy. He never got an answer. He didn't expect one. Until he did get one, from beyond the grave. His friends heard him, and they answered with a gift greater than anything he could have asked for. Ethereal essence conjured from the air around him, which solidified around the useless stumps on his arms, forming new hands(and a forearm too, but that's less interesting). All they asked for in return for this gift was that he live in their stead. All they asked for was one more job. Or a few more jobs, I suppose. Really, any amount of jobs will do. Time zone - PST Character link - Currently unavailable, as while I have Tasha's in physical form, I don't have it on DDB I will try and port it over as quick as possible, however. How long have you played DnD? - Only about 4-5 years, and about 1.5-2 years of that was 1E. However, amount makes up for time in my case, since I've basically allowed D&D to envelop my life in the time I've been playing it. Best Moment - Probably the time I commited mass murder via chandelier. I was playing a heavily divination-based character, with a magic tarokka deck that he could use to define the future. We were cornered in a drug lord's manor, and I decided to draw a card. I drew 'the executioner', and thought that we were totally done for. But then the DM goes ahead and says "if you drop that chandelier, the entire house will be set on fire, and everyone inside will die. So I say "screw it, why not", and throw a magic pebble at the chain holding it up. Our group escapes into a vault with a secret exit while dozens of guards perish in the flames outside. It became a running joke in our campaign that my most powerful combat ability was to make a chandelier fall, because I had basically no combat spells. In fact, our DM even decided to grant me the spell "Dante's Inferno"(the character's name is Dante Arc), allowing me to create chandelier-based havoc as I pleased. I have never used the spell. Worst Moment - Same character as before, now I'm trying to quell a rebellion. My character is a noble, and a bunch of peasants(at the urging of an intergalactic machine cult(don't ask)) were rising up against the upper class. I got all ready to make a big speech to make them go home, and then I realized that while my character might have 20 charisma, I don't. I awkwardly proceeded, stumbling over words, then followed it up with a natural 1 check. Hundreds died in the ensuing riot, and my character was thrown 100 feet down a magical elevator shaft by a member of the aforementioned machine cult(he survived, thankfully).
Character art - Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything that perfectly fits the character. Not a full body shot, at least. I did, however, manage to find a head and shoulders shot that fits what I'm thinking of.

Graham will never fail a job again.

Character link - Currently unavailable, as while I have Tasha's in physical form, I don't have it on DDB I will try and port it over as quick as possible, however.
"Ignorance is bliss, and you look absolutely miserable."

I'm really interested in this but I don't have any content and the character I want to do needs stuff I don't have q.q
Rolls anyway because I might be able to finesse something I like without extra things: 14 15 16 11 15 17
Ofc these rolls are amazing and I can't do what I want to do for the character q.q a waste
Submission closed. Thank you, everyone!
