I have Halfling Druid 2/Swarmkeeper 6 who uses the Druid base to wild shape into the creatures of his swarm (Spiders). I already used my first ASI/Feat to bulk up my dex and wis score (but it is not a character I have played yet, so that can be changed).
Question: What would be a good way to optimize him? I was thinking of going poisoner a skill to have continuous poison damage on tap.

If you want to lean on wild shape, first thing to do is abandon dex and embrace wis. It's not like the dex helps you while wild shaped, and Swarmkeeper is giving you bonus spells that rely on Wis. I assume your GM has ruled on whether or not you can wild shape into a swarm, yes?
I'd say the most obvious path to optimization is easing back on Swarmkeeper and pushing harder on Druid - if you go for Moon Druid 4/Swarmkeeper 4, you'll have two ASIs/Feats to spend, and you'll have most of the benefits of each subclass. That said, this sort of multiclassing makes odd levels of Ranger painful, so I understand if you want to get your Swarmkeeper levels out of the way early.
