For the next adventure I'm going to be playing in, I was going to play as a mountain goat centaur, as it will be set in the Spine of the World, and, well, mountains.
But I was looking at the centaur race, and it
a) Is slower than a horse (and the centaur monster) - fits for a goat
b) Is smaller than a horse (and the centaur monster)- fits for a goat
c) Does less damage with its hooves (get that this will be for balance) - fits for a goat
So in actual fact, making a goat centaur would just be reskinning the RAW, maybe getting rid of the bad climbing. Am I missing something here?
Thanks, I was thinking about doing that anyway, goats not being renowned for their intense high speed charging, especially as a centaur doesn't have horns and so can't butt. I know it does need to be balanced, but centaurs do still seem a little weak. Anyway, thanks for the help!

The centaur player race is balanced for being a PC, where dnd don't like having LARGE PCs.
If you are removing Bad Climbing, then you probably should remove a benefit to keep it balanced, so maybe remove Bad Climbing and Charge?
