I am a level three Monk and want to multiclass. Monks have a AC of fifteen when not wearing armor. If I multiclass as a sorcerer, I can use a feature that would give me an AC of sixteen when not wearing armor. I'm not sure what my AC should be.
You can only ever use 1 Amor Calculation at a time, and it's recommended to always use the best.
Monk Unarmored Defense is: 10 + Dex Mod + Wis Mod, and incompatible with Shields. Dragon Blooded Sorcerer's Unarmored Armor Calculation is: 13+ Dex Mod, and is compatible with Shields. Keep in mind if you use a Shield you can't use Martial Arts.
IF you have a Dex of 16 and a Wisdom of 14, then at 4th lvl taking 1 lvl in Sorcerer would increase your AC by +1. That said if you took 4th lvl in Monk and put your 2 ASI's into Dexterity, your To Hit, Damage, Init, AC, and any skill dependent on Dex would go up by 1 point as well. Plus you don't lose progression in Monk.
I'm not saying whether to do it nor not, but if you want a dragon blooded sorcerer monk that's cool, but it's not a big mechanical change in your AC. Things that DO stack are modifications to your AC instead of things that are AC Calculations. So Shield of Faith adds +2 AC, a Staff of Defense is *AMAZING* on a Monk, because it counts as a quarterstaff in combat and lets you cast Shield for 1 charge for +5 AC against attacks for a round!

When different AC calculations are active, you choose the one which gives the highest AC.
Different AC calculations do not stack.
