Hello. If a player wanted to use two-weapon fighting with a light and non0light weapon, would you let them? Personally, I would let them do it with any of the weapons that only deal a d4, but I want to know how other people would rule this.

No. If they want to dual wield with a light and non-light weapon, they would need the dual wielder feat to do so. At least that is how I would run it.
The only d4 non-light weapons I could see were the dart and the whip.
The RAW is very specific that you need to make an attack with one Light weapon before you can TWF with a second, barring a feature that says differently. This is even more relevant with the streamlining of weapon drawing, since otherwise you could have someone attack with a two-handed weapon and then slip in an attack with a scimitar or shortsword with 0 additional feature investment, whereas the PAM feat only gives a d4 of bonus action damage, presuming the TWF fighting style was taken as I would expect on this build.

I think you could use a long sword as long as you have two attacks. Essentially attack with the longsword, stow it away, Attack with the scimitar in your hand and draw a different scimitar. Attack with that scimitar and stow one of them away.
I don't think you can use a two handed weapon... But you might be able to because the two handed weapon I think only requires to hands to attack. So you could Attack, draw the scimitar, attacking with the scimitar, stow the greatsword, WHen you attack with the next one, you have to pull another scimitar out. At this point, you can only attack with the greatsword every other round....but that is something.
Yes, if you have Extra Attack you can make it work, so long as you also take one of your Attack Action attacks with a Light weapon. My point was that if you drop the Light requirement (and possibly one-handed, I'd need to check what each set of rules says on that specifically), you're functionally allowing a stronger PAM at no investment with the easy weapon shifting rules in 2024.

Id just do two weapon fighting with a shield at that point... But I imagine most dms aren't going to allow that.

I agree with David42. If they want to use a non-light weapon then they need to invest in the dual wielder feat. It’s what the feat is there for in the first place.
Now, if you don’t use feats in your game then that’s up to you. But I wouldn’t. They could take a light weapon and flavor it as a non-light one but I think that’s as algae as I would go.
