I'm running a game where the party fought werewolves and now 2 members have been cursed with Lycanthropy.( they don't know this yet) i want to spring a dramatic surprise but one issue i have is that one of them has a bag of holding and is the defacto treasure holder for the party. They recently picked up some silver treasure...as the infected have not yet changed for the 1st time yet i didn't have any adverse reaction to touching the silver. I'm planning on it having an effect on prolonged exposure such as wearing a bracelet or ring becoming itchy with a rash then start to burn the closer it gets to a full moon then after 1st transformation have them take damage from touching any silver. Does this seem right or sjould they react imediately?
It depends if you want your players to possibly know in advance they were infected by Lycanthropy or not. Contact with silver doesn't have to be harmful to them so it's up to you.
Thank you both. Yes i want to do something gradual with some hints but wanted to make sure there was nothing in any rules that states Lycanthropes can't come into contact with silver without reacting to it.

Hi,

It seems like that would be a way to give an indication of something being wrong without coming out and saying it directly.
I would be wary of making silver items do damage just be being in contact as that is not part of any lycanthrope stat block.
