In one of the expanded feat UA's they had a few weapon mastery feats, I like the specialization they bring up but everyone I've spoken too doesnt think they are worth an ASI however. This made me consider making them fighting styles, a specialized way a person goes about fighting, I havent fully pondered this myself but I wanted to open up the discussion to others.
Most players are going to be reticent to trade an ASI for a feat simply because increasing ability scores provide a greater array of benefits than taking a feat. The exceptions would be those feats that include an ASI plus additional benefits. So it seems that one way to increase the interest in feats in general is to eliminate the option to take an ASI and require the PC to choose a feat instead. If you do not wish to pursue this option then you have to consider other avenues. The first issue I see with your idea of making turning these feats into fighting styles is their relative strength compared to the fighting styles presented in the book. It seems to me a compromise is available. Since the feats in question would probably be most used by fighters simply require that fighters must take a feat instead of an ASI at 6th and 14th level. Another option, although a bit more limited is to allow a fighter that takes the Battle Master archetype to substitute one the listed feats for the tool proficiency they get at 3rd level when they select the archetype.
Those are my thoughts and ideas on the subject.

As for me, I choose to believe that an extinct thunder lizard is running a game of Dungeons & Dragons via Twitter!
