ok so l know this might be a weird question, but is it possable for, say,a lv 6 warlock to fall out of favour of its patron and convert from a lv 6 warlock to a level 6 of another class,or would their warlockness be for life or would they simply start as a lv one, say, fighter?
like l know a fighter cant just unlearn its training but with warlocks and clerics they get their power from someone/something so in theory the entity could decide to revoke the powers given, and for out of game reasons it would suck to have a party with 3 lv 6s and one lv 1 former warlock and they might not want to just make a new character if they decide they dont want to be a warlock/cleric anymore.
TL;DR is there a in game way (other then a wish) to convert one classes levels to another class?
The rules would allow you to multi-class and keep you level 6 warlock and begin adding levels (starting with level 1) in a new class. However, your DM may just let you drop the character and start playing a new character at level 6 in the new class. See what your DM will go with. Good luck.

My interpretation of the rules for warlock’s is they’re taught and granted their power permanently. It isn’t something that their patron can take away from them. But, that doesn’t mean they automatically gain new powers or knowledge when they level up, each time they level up their new abilities come from hit patron.
That is not how Mike Mearles interprets the rules, but it’s how I interpret them. Every DM is different.
Like others say, there doesn’t seem to be anything RAW that lets you do it. But if the player and DM are ok with it, and you can rebuild (ASI choice, maybe some ability score changes, etc. ) if you choose another class, it doesn’t seem like it would really be game-breaking. Actually, it could make for a really cool character.

Very much an "up to the DM," question. The rules don't say you can anyway.
