I've seen a thread about forced movement not provoking Opportunity Attacks, but what about the opposite? Does forced movement affect a move action in progress?
Let's say an enemy is using its move action and provokes an attack of opportunity against a raging Juggernaut Barbarian.
According to Thunderous Blows, the Barbarian has the option to push the enemy 5'. How is this reconciled with the fact that the enemy is still in the middle of his move action?
In my mind, forced movement would make the victim stumble a bit and have some kind of penalty to their movement, either making them lose some of their movement or ending it all together as the victim tries to maintain his footing. Is there an actual ruling for this?
Similarly, if a character is knocked prone by an attack of opportunity, does the victim's move action end, or can they still expend half their speed to stand up and continue to move after that?
I assume forced movement is completely separate from movement speed(this is why forced movement breaks grapples) so raw I think the victim would be able to use the remainder of their movement.
Not seeing the rules for a Juggernaut barbarian, if you can choose the direction you knock the enemy back that could still increase the distance from point a to point b.
I see no reason for the rules of being knocked prone to be adjusted, if they have half their movement they can stand if not they can crawl
I am not sure what your source is, but "juggernaut barbarian" does not appear to be an official class, assuming this is about 5e.
Forced movement during a creatures move action would do nothing to hinder them. If there were some sort of official way to cause it to happen, it would move them and then they could use the rest of their voluntary movement to move as far as it can.
If a creature were somehow knocked prone during an attack of opportunity, they still have movement left. They could spend half of their movement to stand up and then continue moving.
Thanks for the answers. By the way, Barbarian's Path of the Juggernaut was from Matthew Mercer's Tal'Dorei Campaign Setting, based off of Critical Role. I realize it isn't official 5e, but the it was just an example.
