Me and my friends played dor the second time yesterday and i have a few questions about combat wich i cant realy figure out just by using the players handbook.
1. If a creature attacks a nother creature is it just the armorclass it has to overthrow (or does it have to check if he eaven manages to attack the other creature with throws first?) and wich mods does it use by doing so?
2. How many hit dice does it use? Is it just the hit dice of the weapons he's using and wich mods can he use to increase its damage?
1. If they're making a basic weapon attack then yes, they roll a d20 + proficiency + str/dex (depending on the weapon) and have to get the same value as the target's armor class or higher. Some spells of other skills use Saving Throws for the target to make.
2. "Hit dice" are what you use to work out hit points. I think you mean "how much damage is it?", for PC's you use your weapon damage dice and add your str/dex (depending on the weapon) as long as you are proficient in it. DNDbeyond does this automatically on its character sheets, you should see something like "1d8+2 slashing damage" for example.
I think it might be useful for you to have a look at the basic rules https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/basic-rules as it sounds like you are still getting to grips with the fundamentals.
