I was playing in this campaign died and need to create a new character to join. At first, I was going for a simple sorcerer build, but I decided to try my first multiclass build and go Sorcadin. As I am starting lvl 4, I can forgo the normal progressing from lvl 1. I've read a couple of sorcadin builds and they all mostly focus on starting out as a Paladin and being tanky and all, but I want to try to start as a Sorcerer. So here is my build idea:
Build:
I am going to go 3 levels into Sorcerer and 1 into Paladin, for now, to eventually end up Sorcerer 14 / Paladin 6
Abilities and Race:
*My character's race is (and needs to be for RP-related reasons) a Half-elf Drow.
Abilities:STR [13 (12 + 1)], DEX [16 (15 + 1)], CON [13], INT [8], WIS [8], CHA [17 (15 + 2)]
I am getting the minimum strength to get my lvl 1 Paladin. Otherwise, my stats are going in Charisma and Dex. Dex might seem like a weird choice, but I don't plan on making my character a tank and want to focus on damage. That is why I am going to try Draconic Bloodline (13 AC + dex) to get some decent AC and a rapier (or other dex melee weapon).
Also, I think I should go Keen senses instead of Drow magic to at least be able to perceive something.
Sorcerer:
As I said, I am going Draconic Bloodline with fire as my element.
Metamagic: Of courses Quickened Spell, but I am still uncertain about the second choice. Maybe Heightened to help my smite or just Empowered in case I get a bad atk roll (gonna read the comments on this ;)
Paladin:
Since I want to go dmg heavy, I was thinking about Dueling, but I don't know that it is the best choice. I was thinking of also holding a shield and then realized that somatic spells are going to be hard to cast, so maybe Defense could be better.
At level 5, I am either going to level up Paladin to get my searing smite or get my 4th level on Sorcerer and get Elemental Adept (fire). Not sure which one first, but one then the other at 6 probably.

Booming Blade
Green-flame blade
Create Bonfire. (I was thinking of combining this with booming blade using sorcery points to force dmg on the enemy. Either he moves and get thunder dmg or stay and burn)
Minor Illusion (RP)
Lvl 1:
Chromatic Ord (Since Paladin isn't high enough yet, I need to play a bit closer to sorcerer and at least one ranged ability is useful)
Shield (because it's op in my opinion early. It would get me at 21 AC without a shield)
Lvl 2:
Mirror Image (avoid testing out my AC against attackers and my duplicates get 10 AC + my dex, so its scale pretty nice)
Hold Person (Do I need to explain? Every Sorcadin build recommends it, so same reasons here)
Anyways That is what I got so far, but I am curious what you all think and what I should change to make this work as best as possible. I am still pretty much a noob so I might have missed a better way to go about this. I was just curious to try and tweak Gastronomie's build to make it work with the rapier since that part of the build isn't done. I don't how the level progression is gonna go, but I will update this if it works out ok. For any league players out there, just imagine a fire Aatrox (lvl 14 dragon wings + scales on my skin) with a rapier and you got a somewhat good image of what I am going for.
