I’m sure it’s happened to all of us and has to me a couple of times in the past but this case is particularly frustrating. I’ve hit a wall with my current character in terms of writing them beyond the first concept, and I’m seeking help to either get excited about writing them on my own again or help in generating lore from input by other writers.
for context, this character is basically Chiron from Greek mythology. Centaur Kensei monk who goes around teaching adventurers whatever. I love the design I’ve chosen and am interested in playing him but I’ve just fallen off completely when having to write his actual character.

I might have a few ideas.
Maybe take a look at Philoctetes in the Disney Hercules film. When Herc first meets him, he’s lost all hope of training a true hero, because all of his students (as heroes do) die. So, for Chiron (who should really be there instead of Phil, I mean come on), think about how he looks at the deaths of his students, even if they were heroes. Is he sad that these young people whom he trained to fruition all died painful deaths? Does he look at it rose-tinted, because they died heroes? If so, perhaps he sees himself on a lower pedestal, not being a hero himself. Maybe Chiron believes that he has trained enough heroes and wants to be one himself. Ask yourself, why? What is Chiron hoping to get out of adventuring? What would spark that desire? Build on that.
