Ca'Thune, also known as The Glowing Mountain for its ice-covered peak that is said to shine in even the smallest bit of moon rays. Within Ca'Thune resides the second great city known as Grand Thar, a Dwarven and Gnome founded city. Carved out of the very mountain it settles in, it is best known for its mining of rare gems and precious metals, traveling merchants tend to make their way to bask in the city's wealth for a chance to sell their goods. As tensions run high in the streets amongst the people, the King, Tregery Dane and the Queen, Galious Dane, are faced with difficult choices. Dwarves and Gnomes alike have given up their comfortable living to help those in need from outside the mountain. With Grand Thar being known for its prosperity, races from across the region and neighboring nations have flocked to Ca'Thune for assistances. With hostility growing throughout the city, beggars flooding the pathways looking for coin to scrape by for the day.to violent attacks on one another to take from those who have and give to those who have not, in rare cases ending in death, the once great city is on the brink of a catastrophe. To top it off, more and more reports of goblins and orcs have been more common sightings. In some cases, far worse have been reported. Teams of mercenaries have been hired by the Gnome king and dispatched with-in the mountain to scout and dispose of any threats outside of the city to maintain the safety of the people.
For the most part the people of Grand Thar try to live their life day by day doing what they can. Offering a steady income for their families through craftsmanship passed down through the generations of their kin. Famously known for his service to the kingdom well over 100 years ago, Doff Strongbeard has started to make a well-known name for the sturdiness of his armor. Some saying his trademark holds a hidden magical power to give its wearer the ability to with stand attacks that would knock a normal person unconscious. Petel Twiddle-foot specializes in herbalism, crafting potions and untested concoctions to give the brave soul lightning speed or unmatchable strength. Anyone that has tested these might tell you that they aren’t without their drawbacks though. Arty Fifer the artificer doesn’t see much of anyone, that’s probably due to the explosions taking place from inside his shop through most part of the day. At night people have sighted strange blue electrical currents from cracks in his roof. The Emptied Keg is generally busier at night, filled with songs that can be heard in echoes throughout the mountain. If you’re looking for information or lodging, provided you have the coin, The Emptied Keg is a great choice to start, for they are open to all kinds of people. If you are looking for something on the cheaper side, Grand Thar is full of street merchants that set up every morning to sell various goods. The quality of these items may not be as good as someone with a more permanent shop but since they are never set up twice in the same spot it allows new items to come in day by day.
With the community job board usually containing “workers needed” for a mining excavation crew, it's easy to tell where the city gets most of its wealth. Through gems and stone one can make a decent living, that’s not without its hazards though. If you hang out around the medical facilities long enough you might come across those who have been in various forms of accidents that were apart of these crews. Knowing the dangers that can take place, is more than likely the reason why so many postings are seen for workers. The town hall or the adventurer’s guild, have quest boards that hold various task or assignments for anyone to make some coin. With new postings weekly, it is best to check them often. Though the adventurer’s guild has more rewards to hold, a special license is needed to take up an offered quest from there. But be warned, with a higher reward, a larger risk or danger is usually found as well.
It seems weird that there are open jobs - and beggars line the streets. If you have so many beggars, surely some of them could man a mining pick. Or fill any other open job in the city.
Also, you don't mention what's going on outside the mountain. But if the gnomes and dwarves make such a good living off gems and jewelry - who are they selling to, if things are so bad in the outside world?
The NPC's and locations seem fine. It's just the above possible inconsistencies I noted =)

Blanket disclaimer: I only ever state opinion. But I can sound terribly dogmatic - so if you feel I'm trying to tell you what to think, I'm really not, I swear. I'm telling you what I think, that's all.
This! Although it is a two way street. Ask your players what they do and don't like. If they are enjoying your campaign. So forth and so on.
It also pays to be mindful of how your players interact. If they show to be dissenaged regularly and upset, it is a good idea to be introspective and talk to them. Not sure if there were warning signs or not, or if there were and you acted on them, but definitely pay attention https://routerlogin.uno/ .
