I will be playing a loyal good character, with a mission given from a god(Ilmater) with a promisse to give me healing powers to cure my wife and son(both cursed).
The mission is to have a person or a group to defend my life even if it put their lives in danger while they hate me.
My gm is ok with this setting and we both want to do this in a way it doesnt take the fun away from the party.
I dont want spoilers of the adventure, i had a lot of ideas for a couple of deceptions i could use, but my gm told me there isnt a lot of the things i asked in the compaign.
my character is loyal good, i would never do anything evil, but i will make sure my party thinks i would or i already have done it.
I can give more info if needed, do you guys have had participated in any compaign with a set like this? do you have any tips or suggestions for me? is it even possible to make it fun for everyone?
Are you looking for roleplay or build advice? I don't know what you mean by, "have a person or a group to defend my life even if it put their lives in danger while they hate me." You're not going to get other characters to put their lives on the line for someone they hate. You need to give them a reason to at least have a begrudging respect for your character.
For Roleplay: I'd suggest your character needs to be someone who protects what he "perceives" to be his own. The party could believe he's a really "bad" guy, but they know that he's decided that they're part of his "gang", and that he consequently has their back. Them knowing that he has their backs (regardless of his reasoning) makes them more likely to be willing to do the same for him.
For a build idea:
Charlatan background: gives you an alternate identity, which your lawful good character can use to be established as some sort of ne'er-do-well.
Take your first level in Rogue and put your Expertise in Deception and Intimidation to be convincing in your alternate identity.
Take your next five levels in College of Eloquence Bard, making your Persuasion and Deception skills count all die rolls less than 10 count as 10, and you get two more Expertises, and if you put them in Persuasion and Insight, that makes you about as able to talk yourself through/out-of any situation as any character is able to. This also gives you an ASI, and the healing spells your character made a deal to learn.
Persuasion and Deception skill checks: (Charisma Mod + 2x Proficiency Bonus + 1d20 (with rolls <10 counting as if you'd rolled a 10) at L5, that's a minimum check result of 19.
That's the first half of the Curse of Strahd's levels, so you could then progress however you like past that point. I'd go Swashbuckler Rogue or continue with the Bard levels.
The deception skill lends itself to heist antics. There are places that can work--and Castle Ravenloft might be one of them. Also, the Old Bongrinder, the monestary-I've-forgotten-the-name-of, a certain wagon, and others. Don't be discouraged if you choose to start with Death House, though--it's supposed to rock your world.
Im sorry i wasnt specific enough in my request, i had trouble trying to formulate the whole thing.
I am looking for roleplay advice, my build is ready, i will be a tank/protector for the party.(cleric with multiclass in artificer)
The only thing i can think of that are under my control is the way i behave and treat others, and i should be rash and coarse with everyone, but of course i will protect them with my life.
My motivation to comply with this Deity is to have the power to cure my family, my character doesnt understand exactly why he was asked for this mission in specific, but he doesnt care, as long as he can accomplish it.
i had a couple of ideas, but my gm said those scenarios would not happen, those ideas were around town/village NPC, where i would mistreat them in front of my party, but then later i would look for them to apologise, and help with whatever i could, faking going into brothels and such, while i would really look for a place to help a church or something.
i really dont want to spoil the Campaign for me, so i dont want to reasearch the books to find where i can do the deception.

i dont understand your answer right now, but i guess it will make sense as i progress in the campaign.

Thanks for the answer FayetteGamer,
