Now that we have most of the content for the updates how are you feeling. There are a lot of varied opinions and I don't see some people satisfied with the new direction. However if the old stuff remains intact it might not be as big of a deal. So lets see if we can collect some data.
In line with the topic feel free to point to what makes your decision but please leave the debates on specifics for other threads.
the main point of discussion here should be your desires for the vague and nebulous concept of "compatibility".
At this, really, I'm considering running a very hybrid game (which would make using D&D Beyond, for the players, difficult)...but it'll depend on what the actual revised ruleset looks like.
It's been a very mixed bag, overall. There are some things I really like and some I absolutely loathe. I'm not a huge fan of what feels like powercreep in the classes or making the DM unnecessary. I especially don't like what feels like sanding down the sharp edges of the game (i.e., no crits for monsters).
As of right now, for me to use the new ruleset, everything from 2014 would have to be available as well.
While our sample size is low, there are some interesting inferences that can be made so far IMO.
1. poll participation is down
2. as of right now people are interested in one/5eR design but a slight preference to old 5e exists.
My theory is that 2014-5e works better as a whole system. Meanwhile 5eR has Pieces that are fixed but it feels Patched and inconsistent. This seems beyond the "Desire for change" VS the "resistance to change" Ideologies.
I expect to keep aspects of both. The 2 classes I play most (ranger and sorceror) got substantial upgrades. I’m not completely satisfied with either one but consider them both as being better than the 2014-2021 versions. I really like the backgrounds and am hoping that it gets incorporated into DDB quickly. I was not happy with the Druid and, if it’s not fixed after the UA, will rely on the PHB (2014) version. I haven’t decide what to do about the warlock as the two versions are significantly different. The new weapon system is easy enough to incorporate and looks good to me (assuming rangers and paladins also get it). For the other classes so far I’m fine with having both types as PCs running around in mixed teams as the players choose.

Which one is the "I'll use both" option?
technically I saw Option 2 and 3 as both. but immediately after posting the poll I realized my wording wasn't as clear as I would like.
