One thing we've noticed in the playtest is a lot of features changing from "your attacks count as magical weapons" to dealing Force damage (or similar).
Do we think this is an indicator that magical weapons in future won't bypass Resistance/Immunities as standard?
I, for one, would welcome this change (and already houserule it in my campaigns). It allows +1, +2, +3, Vicious, etc. weapons to be a useful upgrade players can invest in/find without negating key monster defences or spells that imbue weapons with damage types. Also keeps silvered weapons relevant.
Considering how frustratingly reticent WotC have been to make changes that aren't "backwards compatible" I'm not sure how likely this will be as it would require monster stat blocks to be updated to remove "except magical" from their physical damage resistances.
