Greetings everyone.
This will be a fairly short changelog, letting you know that, with the release of Mythic Odysseys of Theros, we have now added support for Mythic monsters to homebrew monsters!
When you create a homebrew monster on D&D Beyond, or edit an existing monster, you'll see that the text boxes for Legendary Actions and Lair Actions have moved slightly, along with the checkbox to activate them being next to them for better flow when creating content.
We've also added another checkbox and description field to support Mythic Actions.
As you can see from the description below, I'm working on a Mythic Encounter with a Castle-Sized Mimic, that I hope my players will enjoy.
You'll see the information from those descriptions in the stat block of your monster, like this:
Have fun creating your own Mythic encounters and let us know what you create to share with the community!
Somebody needs to make a castle sized mimic.
You thought Baba Lysaga's Creepying Hut from Curse of Strahd was scary?
Castle Ravenloft is a giant mimic now.
How do you get on the monster page
Awesome!
Cool :D
Am sad I don’t understand this since I’m basically a dnd noob
Question. Ummmmmm.... how do mythic encounters work? I have tried to make a mythic creature (link here), but I don't havee theros so I don't know wether I did it right.
Asking the reL questions here. I dont even know how to find what books I purchased
Seeing this rather late, but it looks pretty good to me!
The monster only can use its mythic actions when its mythic trait is active, which you did not include in the stat block. The mythic trait activates (usually) once the monster has already been taken to 0 hit points, and should be dead. Then, the trait activates, and the monster is able to take mythic actions.
