Greetings fellow adventurers!
I hope everyone is looking forward to the upcoming holidays, I know we are! Today's change-log is a little light on features, but has some exciting information (at least from my perspective).
In regards to Homebrew Races / Subraces, we have just about wrapped up the feature. Look for it to be released not too long after the holiday break is over. Once Homebrew Races / Subraces is deployed, Homebrew Subclasses will be hot on its heels!
We've also taken some time this week to get in some performance improvements in various areas of the site. Most notably, for now, the Spells, Items, and Monsters, listing and details pages.
As you can see from the image below:
The response times on the Magic Item listing page was getting out of hand (a peak of 2.6 seconds), non-cached. We got in under the hood and got the response times back down to a respectable 200 milliseconds, non-cached. We will always keep monitoring the site for these kinds of issues, and re-engineer, where appropriate.
We also pushed our first mobile app update to the current alpha testers! In the update we:
- fixed a few crash related bugs on both platforms
- fixed the inset positioning on iOS 10
- moved Search into a background process to minimize impact on the UI
The mobile devs are hard at work and will be pushing more alpha updates once we're back from the holiday break! I know I am excited to have all the 5e books on my iPad mini and taking that with me across country next week. No more lugging around books!!!
We hope everyone has a great holiday season, and has time to relax and spend time with friends and family! (and maybe slay a few dragons)
Great work! Rest well and enjoy yourselves!
Ditto. Y'all make it easier to love and share this hobby.
Glad see things progressing. On the mobile front, is the web page unavailable error that you get when you use the table of contents links or click an image something that will get fixed soon? Or is it something having to do with it being an alpha still?
Cheers and happy holidays,
AD
