Greetings everyone!
With this week's updates brings a few additions and fixes to D&D Beyond. We want to thank you all for your continued support!
Additions:
- You can now purchase Tactical Maps Reincarnated from the Marketplace! From there you'll be able to download high resolution JPG image files of 20 different tactical poster maps.
Fixes:
- Adjustments were made to how senses stack. Bonuses to senses (like Darkvision) will no longer stack where they previously did. For example, a Gloom Stalker (Ranger) Tiefling with Goggles of Night and Umbral Sight will only gain the benefits of the highest bonus of Darkvision. In addition to this, Umbral Sight will appropriately apply the bonus or grant Darkvision depending on whether the character is granted Darkvision already. While this problem was most apparent with Darkvision, this same logic will apply to all senses.
- A new modifier (Base Set -> {Sense}) was added to allow to differentiate whether a sense is a bonus (like with Goggles of Night), or granted inherently to your character (like with Darkvision racial traits).
- Fixed a scrolling bug in the sidebar of the character sheet that was occurring in Google Chrome's newest build, Version 72.

Posted Feb 8, 2019@DrJK Good catch. That was just a small data update that was missed with the Sorcerer class feature when the new modifiers were created. I updated it and it should be reflected properly in your sheet :).

Posted Feb 8, 2019Goggles of night are supposed to stack.
While wearing these dark lenses, you have Darkvision out to a range of 60 feet. If you already have Darkvision. wearing the goggles increases its range by 60 feet.

Posted Feb 8, 2019Neat, but the warlock Devil's Sight is still handled as Darkvision, although it should not - Darkvision grants normal sight in dim light, and "dim light sight" in nonmagical darkness; meanwhile Devil's Sight does not help with dim light, but it lets you see normally in normal and magical darkness.

Posted Feb 8, 2019I just tested Goggles of Night. They work as intended on my Aasimar character...

Posted Feb 9, 2019I am buying these maps on faith that I can give DDB more $$$ and not deal with any other VTT...
Even a way to view the maps online would be a start. I can view adventure maps, why can't I view these?

Posted Feb 9, 2019Goggles of Night stack with racial bonuses still, you're correct. So, if you're a Tiefling with the goggles, those will still stack. However, they will not stack with other magic items that also grant a bonus to Darkvision.

Posted Feb 9, 2019Correct. We are still discussing the best course of action on this one. Darkvision does not equal Devil's Sight, and these updates were not addressing that problem directly.

Posted Feb 9, 2019Awesome. My Duergar Deep Stalker with the Axe of the Dwarvish Lords (built for a one shot) now correctly shows his darkvision at the truly ridiculous 210 ft that he has.

Posted Feb 9, 2019I see, thanks.
At least they don't stack anymore, which is a start. ;) Would it be very complicated to add it as an additional type of sense? Yes, it is only granted by one optional class ability currently, but then you could allow it for magic items too, for homebrew and such.

Posted Feb 11, 2019Agreed that Devil's Sight should be handled like a separate sense, no different to how Blindsight is separate to Darkvision.

Posted Feb 11, 2019The best course of action would simply to make it a separate sense, because that is what it is.
