Hello all. I have a hill dwarf wildfire druid named "Lugh the Firefighter" who is a dwarven firefighter in lore that puts out loose forge fires by commanding the power of fire itself. But as a dwarven firefighter, he likes to walk up and smack things in melee range.
Few questions about wildfire druid functionalities:
1. Does the extra d8 from Enhanced Bond apply to the wildfire spirit's attacks (ranged seed and teleportation)?
2. Does the Elemental Adept (Fire) feat that counts all 1s as 2s in fire damage rolls apply to the spirit's attacks (ranged seed and teleportation)?
3. With Flame Blade, would the Enhanced Bon's +1d8 be applied to every swing (so once per turn) because each one is a melee spell attack? Or only on the first turn?
4. I know RAW is that you can't use Green Flame Blade with Flame Blade attacks, but do you think it would be OP if you used them together? My DM might let me do it anyway but we don't want it to be OP.
5. Do you think GFB with shillelagh would be higher DPR than using Flame Blade alone? Right now he has 16 wisdom.
3. Only one damage roll of your choice. I suppose it doesn't have to be the first one.
4. Probably not op unless the druid is already outshining other party members.
5. Shillelagh+ green flame at all levels if you can hit a second target and post 5(12 vs 11.5 average damage) even if you can't. Once you have enhanced bond that's 3d8+3 even if you don't hit a second creature compared to 3d6 and you don't have to use a slot or concentration. You would have to up cast to your highest level slot to really keep ahead.
The bonus damage is only once per cast. So it doesn't help some spells very much.
Shillelagh plus GFB is a solid option for melee. And, since spell would be cast every turn you attack with it, you'd get the bonus d8 every time.
Your concentration is important. Probably one of the most important resources you need to carefully spend. Concentration spells are very potent, but you can only concentrate on one.
Please for the love of all that is holy do not waste your concentration on flame blade.
I played a WF druid from 3 to 13. They're amazing. Faerie Fire. Entangle. Spike Growth. Call Lightning/Moonbeam. Healing Spirit. Aura of Vitality. Summon Elemental. Summon Draconic Spirit. Polymorph. Wall of Fire/Stone. Etc.
You have really good concentration spells to use.
