It also appears that "Adamantine Half Plate" is missing the "Combat" tag that all the others have. That seems like a simple omission. Then again, I'm unsure what the criteria is for when something deserves a tag. For example, "Animated Shield" doesn't have the "Combat" tag, but it strikes me as a combat-esque thing. Again, not sure on the criteria.
In tandem with Mosvan's original post, armors and other equipment could display the mundane item's armor as part of the description, to help user memory load. Another solution... The Magic Items could have at least a link in the item page to the Equipment Eg: - Magic Item --(contains link to)-> Associated Equipment, and - Equipment --(link to)--> Associated Magic Item (this is less priority than above, I can imagine how much more of a workload this adds to development) if that can be pulled off, the user is just one step from viewing the item page (button link) and from there they have the ability to click on links to the associated items. Decreases User memory load by a lot, so we dont have to recall - or take steps to recall - the basic stats of equipment.
The other thing Mozvan mentioned (note, i can't quote him because I'm editing this reply since I can't delete it in the first place), was that some of the keywords in the Notes part of the compressed Items' description were too long to fit in the compressed UI element. When the User expands it, why not show the whole text that isnt visible? by way of increasing the whole UI rectangle's height to fit a next line in the Notes section
I believe you are partially commenting on the fact that when you filter "Wondrous Items" some of these can be found in the other item filters am I correct? If so I agree and think that "Wondrous Items"/magic items should be their own category or should be a sub-filter within the individual item types. I think this would make things a bit more simple and easier for comparisons.
Although it strikes me that I'm unsure of which of the 2 points I made was the one you're replying to; I assumed it was the 1st, so I wrote the reply below...
Im not talking about wondrous Items, forget I said "mundane," I was copying someone else's use of the word. I meant something else.
When you search for a weapon or an armor, it says the weapon type it applies to. But often - especially for armors - players don't remember the AC associated with the name of the armor. The name on its own doesn't help remember what Armor type (Light,Medium, Heavy) or more importantly the AC score of that Armor name. What Mozvan was saying was to have the AC implemented in the Magic Armor (specifically using the armor example, though he might've intended it to work more broadly), while I'm offering a suggestion for Armors and Weapons.
When you are in the Magic Item list page, each UI element (rectangle) is compressed (argh! i should've said "collapsed," in previous reply too), hiding more information for the sake of better navigation over dozens, if not hundreds of items. When you expand it, there is a button to the Magic Item's page, a "view item page" button. In that page is where I'm suggesting they implement button links to the "mundane" (not Wondrous, I mean the base item) item's page, though it should be called by what it is... "Equipment"; whether it is a weapon, an armor, or other... I can't think of another category that has this design opportunity, you either want to know about the base weapon's stats or the base Armor's AC; price is irrelevant since we're dealing with non-Equipment category of items, and price now relates to rarity.
Now the reason my solution is suggesting a link in the Item Page - from the "view item page" button - is that the player can then see the base Equipment's stats instead of only glimpsing its most relevant one. A link to the page does the same job as displaying AC or damage, at the cost of 1 extra step, but with the added bonus of seeing everything the player will probably want to see about the base Equipment, what I was originally calling the "Mundane" item.
Thank you Huber for explaining what I really meant while I was absent! You interpreted it the way I meant it.
The bottom line here is that D&D Beyond seems like it is supposed to be a powerful tool for DMs and players. I hope they aren't just making a big book indexing service. If I click on Adamantite Armor I should be able to learn, from its page, what it's AC is, what benefits it bestows, what it would cost, what I could sell it for, a link to the history of adamantite, any relevant NPCs or Monsters who may wield it etc.
When I started perusing the listings yesterday my first reaction was to REACH FOR THE BOOK to get it to explain what I was reading on the web page. That's not right and can't be what the developers intend. I know alot of you are lifetime players and experts but some of us are filthy casuals. Having all of the relevant info at my fingertips is what I'm hoping for personally.

I agree. One of the advantages of doing something in a digital format is the sheer amount of information you can include. Another advantage is being able to link that information together so if it's already available in one place you can easily add it to another place without additional work. So something like this would be relatively easy for the developers to do and it would make the finished product much better to use (so it would make people on the fence about it more likely to jump in.)
As an aside, you're not alone in wanting to reach for a book at times (or at least have a look in a different section for better clarification.) I've found myself doing that frequently as I've been poking around on here and I've been playing and running games for a long time. Having everything easily all in the same place, especially through collapsible links, would be an ideal solution as it would make it easier to "flip" through quickly if you just need a quick summary and it would allow all of the relevant information to be at your fingertips if needed.
i also figured that was the case but wanted to point it out on the off chance that it wasn't. plus the more people that talk about the more likely it gets noticed and possibly added. still, overall, very impressed with this site so far
Though I can understand why having each kind of armor and weapon with every level of bonus listed individually could be useful to some people, it makes browsing through lists where armor or weapons are included a huge drag. Is it possible to condense all armor/weapons of the same magic effect under one entry (for instance, all weapons of dragon slaying, or all +2 armor)? Then each kind of armor or weapon it can be applied to could be listed either in the item description or on the armor page.
Basically what I'm asking is to list magic armor and weapons the way they're listed in the DMG. (also, +1 on adding prices and finesse/light/etc tags to weapons)

I agree with this. Having 12 entries for, say, Armor of Fire Resistance, and 12 entries for Armor of Frost Resistance and 12 entries for Armor of Force Resistance, and so on and so on, is really unnecessary. Having one entry for Armor of Resistance with information about what kind of about it can apply to (links to those armor in the compendium would also be nice) and the different damages it would be resistant to is perfectly fine. When it comes time for the character sheets however, having the option to pick specifically the armor type and damage resistance and automatically applying it to your character would be cool. (Of course I'm using the Armor of Resistance as an example, all of the items with multiple entries should be handled like this).

For the character sheet, that's exactly how its going to work :) I've seen enough feedback about the effect though on browsing the listing, so we'll do something about that. It may not be like next week, but we'll address it. Thanks so much for the feedback!

Would be helpful if you could add finesse, light, etc. to filters for weapons when searching.

DM and player
has anyone discussed that general pricing isnt included either? again, i understand beta, but, value is very important to both players and the GM
It's been talked about a few times that I've seen. I haven't seen an official response about it, but I'm sure they're aware it's wanted.
