Just a little feedback regarding the race listing feature. I love the front page with the races listed. it's very pretty on all devices.
The only thing I would change is listing subraces in their own category, having all attribute bonuses listed along with all traits. Right now you list the Gnome with two sub races. I think there is enough about each sub race to have full entry with their own avatar.
I understand that this might not be possible or way too much work to justify. However if not, I think it is something that is handy, different from the books slightly, and adds value to the content based on its organization.
I have other feedback, but it will have to wait until the character builder is launched so I can see if my perspective changes based on that.
Here's why I like it the way it is. When making a character you need to know all the main race info and add on the subrace info. I would find it easier to pick the main race to get the overall information and then go to the subrace. Also, it's already a long list when on a phone and adding more to it just makes it longer. Of course, searching for stuff will be way easier when they put the Omni Search in as promised, somewhere much closer to release. But in the end I would love that all the race along with its subraces stay on one page to scroll through so you don't have to click back and forth once there to make sure you get all the information down correctly.

The clicking back and forth is exactly why I would like for subraces to have their own entry. That way you are not scrolling, or clicking, back and forth to make sure you got everything. In the books, you have to flip back and forth. It would be nice to have one list. I experimented with this by making my own race half-sheets and they work great!
as a compromise, maybe making the base race expandable, so the list is shorter, but you can expand the ones with sub races if you are interested.
When testing this with new players, they want to known first and foremost, how the races relate to how they play the game. I think listing the traits first and then descriptions of the traits, then the flavor text, would be more convenient and useful. I had to explain they needed to scroll down to find what they needed.
Also, I think the height, weight, and age calculation would be useful here in this section. Since it relates directly to your race, there is no reason to not include that in each race's section.
Nice points. I know they put it in the order it is in the actual books/pdfs when they made the full info pages. Not sure why they always like having the flavor text first in a lot of things, maybe to inspire you to want to play one and give you ideas of what you could do. Which is cool to help people with ideas, but in the way to get to when making a toon, especially when on a phone you have a bit of scrolling to do.

I definitely like the flavor text. I find it very important. However you will only read it once or twice, then you are using the app to get information, not get inspired.
Exactly - I'm not sure how they might do that so it is there for the fun of reading, but not in the way for the info grubbing of making a character. Definitely breaking up into more pages would work better for those on smaller devices, but might be annoying for those on a desktop/laptop or even one of the larger tablets where it isn't too bad to scroll through. Not sure where the happy medium would be at though they do have the side menu for jumping to things that I think should show up at the top of a small device though I don't think they have a return to top button to get back to it quick at the end of each section that is internally linked for that page.
EDIT: Just shrunk my browser to phone size - the very top has a jump to drop down menu to help you get to sections without scrolling however you have to scroll all the way back to the top to find the jump to thing again. It would be nice if it stayed at the top of the screen to save scrolling to the top to find it again. Might as well just scroll through it all if you need to jump back and forth for info like page flipping I always wind up doing making a char with a book.
will races from volo's guide be added like kenku triton and aasimar?
Hi argvarg22.
During the beta test of D&D Beyond, we'll only be including content that is freely available from Wizards of the Coast, including the D&D 5th edition SRD , D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, Elemental Evil Companion and potentially others. The beta will not include additional content from a Commercially Released Book, Module or Supplement.
All of the remaining published content from the PHB, DMG, MM and other D&D 5th edition books will be added to D&D Beyond for product release - the cost for accessing this material has not yet been announced.
The goal is for all content to be available on the site.
As Unearthed Arcana is play-test content from WotC, rather than official published WotC content, I would hope that it will be available as public homebrew.
I don't know if this is the intended effect or not, but that content still shows up in search. While Rylzrayrth is certainly impressive, some more info in the error message would have been appreciated. Maybe even a link to this thread?
Any word on whether we'll be able to provide our proof of purchase to unlock this content or something? Because it seems clear from the thumbnail and preview text that the content exists.

Why are Drow stats not posted as a sub race of elves? The main race page only lists two elf sub races.
SRD and Basic Rules only for the testing.
