Is there a reason Tiefling is not an option for the Ranger's Favored Enemy options?
D&D Beyond probably doesn't realize tieflings (and aasimars) as player races are meant to be humanoids.
"A playable race is humanoid unless it has a racial trait that says otherwise."
"A tiefling is a humanoid"
It's probably a bit of previous edition confusion as they were labeled as outsiders (native subtype) but they aren't considered fiends (or aasimars as celestials) and the humanoid PC races isn't specified anywhere in the PHB.
Good spot. It looks like we're missing a fair few races, and have some odd ones in there too.
I expect we should have all the Basic Rules races in there at a minimum. I'll go ahead and mark this as a bug, thanks!

Hello,
Do we know if this was ever resolved? One of our players is wanting to select tieflings and cannot.
Unfortunately, still nothing seems to have come of this...
@VillainTheory
Just ran into this... Any update here?
Regrettably, I don't think this thread is of particularly high priority, too bad too.
I'd probably rule that if you select 2 humanoids as favored enemy as in PHB, then just say tiefling etc.
A tiefling is to Orc as Asamir is to dragon born...etc

Could we get this addressed?
Tieflings are still not on the list of Favoured Enemy: Humanoid, as of June 2020. It needs to get fixed!Please get it fixed DndBeyond!
Its been 2 years now. They're still not on the list?
It's been 5 years now and still not there :(
