Me and the rest of my party of newcomers to D&D have just played our first ever session, we used DnD beyond and really liked using it. made the playing experience smooth and relatively easy. Butt now that we've gotten our EXP and leveled up to lvl 3, most of us have to choose our subclass. just one problem though. most of us made our character with a certain subclass in mind for the future, me included. I wanted to pic arcane trickster for my rogue, but I can only choose thief. if I want to choose arcane trickster I have to buy stuff. now, I don't want to buy your whole library (just yet) so I was wondering if I could just purchase the player's handbook in the marketplace and get away with just that?(I already have the physical book each is what I first used to draft my character before I found DnD beyond, so I know the arcane trickster is in it)
You can recreate the Arcane Trickster and any non-free spells as private homebrew using your physical book as reference. 100% free, but requires some effort.
You can buy just the Arcane Trickster and any non-free spells you need. Cheap and easy, and any money you spend on these will reduce the price of the PH.
You can buy the entire Player's Handbook. (Don't pick the Compendium Only option; that only gives you access to the book's text)
Buying the whole PH might make sense if you want to be able to read the PH on a phone or tablet or if you want to share the book with your group using a Master Tier subscription.

Any help would be appreciated
Yes, you can buy only the Player's Handbook, and get all the character options unlocked for the character builder.
You can also buy only the options you want if it suits you better.
