I recently made my first character (a level 2 warlock) after purchasing the Player's Handbook compendium content. I chose the Agonizing Blast Eldrich Invocation (which should add my CHA modifier to the damage dealt). While I see the extra damage on the site, the extra damage is not showing up on the exported character sheet. Is this an unknown bug, or something that is being worked on? On a side note, will descriptions for features, traits, and/or spells be available as part of the exported character sheet in the future? Any info would be appreciated.
the export function of the character builder will see a revamp in the future.
I'm also running into this problem. I want to use the optional Sanity mechanic from the DMs Guide for a horror-driven campaign...
I'm not sure what "this problem" is exactly, but it would be cool for the builder to support those optional ability scores. In the meantime, there's the "Notes" section.
Is there a way to add death sickness to a character? (ie basic penalties after being resurrected? Starts at -4 to all rolls and goes down by one after each long rest like in Raise Dead - even better would be a way to customise it, as in our homebrew world those effects take 4 weeks to clear, lowering by one each week)
Quick question: when adding heavy armor to a character, the base speed is not reduced automatically. Maybe that is something that could be added in the future?

In the first page of the editor, you can choose the Encumbrance rule to apply in the character sheet.
Some general UI suggestions for the character sheet:
Under Features, particularly Class Features, there should be an emphasis on what features THIS CHARACTER has, rather than printing the full rulebook text. For instance, a whole collapsible pane for Lvl 4 Ability Score Improvement gives me 2 paragraphs about what an Ability Score Improvement is (something that could easily be redirected to one of the handy green hyperlinks or a tool tip, etc), but NO information about which Ability Score Improvements this character actually chose.
Features also gets very long after a while, such that the fat blocky panes that expand into their full descriptions may not be the best size option for viewing all of a character's feats at a glance. Size options for these panes seem like they'd be super helpful.
The panes in the Notes section should be collapsible the way the other sections' panes are. This is probably going to be the most verbose section, and having to scroll past the whole Background just to get to my "Other" Notes is silly.
The separation of "Attacks" from Equipped Weapon attacks seems unnecessary... if there is a clear difference, maybe a tooltip would help tell users what that is? Also, these should be drag-able to rearrange them, so that I don't always have to scroll to my favorite attack.
When on mobile (or when the browser window is small enough, like when it's sized for half the horizontal screen), the top header with the Prof bonus, AC, Walking Speed, etc disappears very quickly with any scrolling.. especially on mobile (with a lot of swiping and scrolling to find everything), it seems like a smaller version of these stats could stay on the top, at least longer than they do (since they're paired with the avatar which takes up a lot of vertical space, and they maybe don't need to be).
The more I'm using this, though, the more I'm loving it! Keep up the good work, guys! Lastly, do you folks release patch and update notes as you improve the site? I'd love to read through these as it progresses, both as a D&D nerd and as a design geek!

I was wondering about a Lvl Up notification. I feel like when I add the XP to my character to lvl them up it would be nice to have an alert, or something on the final sheet that notifies me that I have unselected skills, spells, new hp that kind of stuff. It would make leveling a little easier than going through the whole process again trying to find anything that has changed. I was also hoping we could get tool tips on the status effects , so when you assign one to your character you know what it is you have to do, perhaps something a little more robust than just a small icon on top of my HP?

Hello - thanks for posting. Both of these things are on the list. More to come when I'm able to share!
Is there any way we can get an auto refresh added to the character sheet like the forums? I would like to turn this on when I am DMing so I can keep up to date with my PC's sheets that i have open in the windows in the background.
I feel like I'm really clicking around a lot when editing characters, and two huge things would really help center the process.
1) Let me manage level and HP from anywhere once I'm managing a character. From the sheet, from any step in Character Builder. Have there be a header with drop downs. Clicking all the way to the sheet just so I can click the avatar and a drop down and navigate to a page with very little on it seems silly to me.
2) Let spellcasters choose spells in the Character Builder during Step 2: Class. It's just weird that all other aspects of leveling up can be done here, including adding gear, but I have to go to the character sheet and scroll down to add a new spell.
Apologies if I'm missing something! Thanks for all the hard work, I love this service.

You can manage spells in that very section: Class. When you have chosen a spellcasting class, a box appears just beside the box Class features.

I completely missed that this was even a drop down! Thank you. Something a little more obvious wouldn't hurt.

How to add Tooltips

It is set to "use encumbrance" - should I set it to variant?
Ah, nevermind, I just realized that the speed is only reduced if the strength score of the character is too low. Thanks for your answers!
Thanks!

Added item: Sentinel Shield and equipped. Item grants advantage on perception checks. That should raise passive perception by +5 also.
