Welcome to the hobby! The tools on this site should help with building a character to play with(plenty of free options from the basic rules to make a fun getting to know the game character) you might check out the looking for group section of these forums to find a newbie friendly game.
Remember, if you want to do something just ask if it's possible and the GM will tell you what to roll.
Besides the Basic Rules (don't skip the introduction) and D&D Beyond's articles, there's a ton of introductory videos, guides and recorded games on Youtube. Just dig around a little, read or watch whatever helps you learn best, and remember that no two groups play D&D exactly the same way. Some D&D streams I can think of off the top of my head: Acquisitions Inc, Critical Role, Dice Camera Action, and Sirens of the Realm.
Most friendly neighborhood comic/hobby shops run Adventurer's League games on weekends. If you can find when and where people are running AL games nearby, you can just show up, create a character, and play.
You can also try to find a group online on these forums or on sites like Roll20.
Hi there! Welcome to the community! The basic rules offer a great walk through about the mechanics of the game. You can use the free character builder on site to get used to character creation. If you have any questions, people on the forums are very nice and can help too.

Can i go on a campaign with you? You seem like someone id get along with IRL, which would probably help out a lot for me
But okpeople, i have two problems though...
First, i cant read the rulesets. I think its a memory issue with my phone that occured in the last few weeks(yes its that bad)
Second, i have no way of reaching anyone anymore for now. All communications failed for me a few weeks ago, which again im sure is a memory issue
Im sorry to the guys who i was going to join, but im still really looking forward to go on a campaign with a few folks. Right now unfortunately i dont think i can
