Just wanted to wish everyone a happy belated new years, and hope all is going well! Have any good stories from D&D you'd like to share? Can be goofy, thrilling or just something that made you go WTF!
I was just in a game where the paladin and warlock decided they wanted to torture a cultist to get information because it would be entertaining, well they didn't even ask the guy a single question and just out right killed him despite the fact he was tied up, and could not do anything. Just had the rest of the party going WTF is wrong with these guys.
My husband and I played a New Years Eve game with some excellent friends, stopping a fight with a high level wizard casting polymorph on everything to raise a glass to the new year....and then got back to the fight!
Right after the new year, I started "The Siege of Castle Rend" by James Haeck, from MCDM's Strongholds & Followers. Served as DM for three friends and my brother. We had a fantastic time and everyone developed an instant crush on Pinna the hedge mage. Great art in the book and I really like the adventure.
Right before the New Year, I served as DM for 5 characters at level 17. Very different game. They sat down at a negotation table with the archdevil Zariel, a solar, and an empyrean. Then the superpowerful Elder Brain at the center of the rogue planet (which is actually a feeding ground for an illithid colony under the surface) attacked everyone. The party survived and now they're a few hundred feet from the outermost edge of my multiverse.
I'm starting to get a bit concerned about a Paladin in my group. He accidentally desecrated a urn of ashes, almost killed a Kobold that turned out to be a Shopkeeper, Raided a Smugglers Den without attempting to contact the law, and convinced a Priest to help him break into a Dead guy's house so he could investigate the murder. He's supposed to be a Lawful Devotion Paladin, might be losing his Oath Features soon.
