I have had so much fun since I started my campaign Arsenal of the Orc Lord for my group of players that I decided to start a second campaign. I know. I must be crazy, but I enjoy the Play-By-Post format. The campaign I have in mind was originally going to be run over Roll20 but my work schedule keeps changing on me, and so, I had to back out as the DM. I hated sending out that PM. But that's work life for ya.
Here's a feel for how I run things:
Style: RP (75%) and Combat (25%) mix Design: Homebrew Edition: D&D 5E Setting: Forgotten Realms PbP Style: Character oriented
Players start at Level 1. I like to keep Party Dynamics balanced. So, if you want to create a character using some funky homebrew rules, run it by me first. I award XP based on RP, Combat, Milestone, Bonus, and occasionally Skill Checks that significantly alter the encounter arcs.
Other than that, I'm looking for a group of 5-8 players.
Oh, and the name of the campaign is Destiny of the Death Knight
I have a quick snippet I wrote. It's on the campaign page. I'll post it here :D
The Dearth Curse has left its mark.
The island of Chult is no longer a lost world, but a place where an ancient evil lurked — an evil that restricted fate. But now that evil has been vanquished, and it is time to return home to the Sword Coast. You gather your affects and purchase passage on one of the many ships anchored in the harbor of Port Nyanzaru. The sun is rising on a new day, but there is a stillness in the air you cannot ignore. Though the Death Curse has been broken, you suspect the evil behind the curse might have had other plans as well — that the experiment on Chult was just the beginning. And so you must hurry back to the Western Heartlands. The future is unwritten. Or so you hope.
I'm completely new to DnDBeyond and the play-by-post format you mentioned, but after reading your snippet, I'd be interested in joining up.
Question though, if I'm thinking of the play-by-post right, how does combat work? Is it delayed for turn order so everyone gets in what they're doing?
Combat works non-linearly. We're not sitting around a Table, and so I keep it fairly loose. I like to wait a few days to give everyone a chance to participate before moving the encounter along. But I don't wait too long. Combat is fast. The stakes are higher than let's say a conversation with an NPC that might yield an important clue necessary to locate an item, place, or contact. The exception to this guideline is boss fights. For those I like to open up the scene and let 'er roll.

Ooo~ I'm quite interested! What day(s) do you think the sessions would be on?
It's an open schedule. People post when they can. That's the best way I can describe it :D
Aah~ Alrighty! Pretty sure I'll be available then
Would I be able to join? This sounds like it's flexible with a lot of times and I may be interested...
Ah- My discord is SmolBitts#9058 by the way, forgot to add that for just in case
I'd be running it here :D
Awesome! Lol ^^
I would love to join only if it could be on the weekends though.
You had me at "Forgotten Realms"! I would love some more info!

I am interested in joining—how do we apply?
Current Roles:
GM - Fata Morgana: The Ghosts of Saltmarsh
Very interested. I sent you a PM with a character concept.
I am in for it: waiting for clarification of the previous questions.
I can post once per day.
if we think about the economy of the group, I'd prefer a tank character

I've already created the campaign page here. I'll be sending out the link to everyone later today.
Looks like we have enough interest! Woot! To get started :D
I'm game! Both groups I used to play with disbanded, so I've been fishing for a new party. Interested in seeing how a PbP game will fair.
"You may have heard of one like me..."
I'm an artist. You can find my work, and my sporadic warbling, here on my tumblr.
Hi I would love to join! I'm usually always on a computer and would be super active!
