As Ren explains the situation with Hank and Dean, Vesna goes a bit white, then a bit green, then somewhat ashen again, but doesn't comment on things she doesn't quite understand, instead trying to focus her attention away from Ren's story. She considers whether she should make a note in the whisper jar about the whistle, but disregards the idea as too dangerous in the case that the jar fell in the wrong hands. Plus, it doesn't seem to her that the lizardfolk is particularly happy with how things turned out to be since his arrival in Etharis either, so the cleric decides not to mention anything.

Stasyn is a bit disappointed that Ren is not a necromancer "Ren that is truly an efficient use of once living assets. If I were in your shoes, I would have done the same. I just asked to better gauge what you can do. I agree we should rest while we can as we have bone collector minions to find." He is quite thankful for the burning censor as he goes rest.
Once night as truly fallen, he gets ready to depart.
Ren smile a toothy grin and nods towards Stasyn. "Perhaps if our team were to acquire a necromancer... some of my taxidermy skills could be put to other uses." The lizardfolk adds as he taps his chin with a clawed finger.
Time passes as Ren begins trying to determine what supplies would be needed to begin making a few crude rooms within the old church. When he isn't doing that, he spends time organizing the loot your party had recovered on the first night and adding it to the crates of supplies.
OOC: So Vesna I think I remember you wanting to do some alchemist stuff. Not sure exactly what you had in mind but if you wanted to study some of the vials you got from the basement of the Wet Weasel correct? You can roll an arcana check or a medicine check if you wish. If someone proficient in those skills wants to help you, you can have advantage. Feel free to toss out a post describing what you want to do and we can go from there.
OOC: we will say any Vesna alchemy stuff happens before nightfall
Hours pass and the sun begins to sit low in the sky. Ren prepares a simple meal for the party as you finish resting for the upcoming night. Looking out between the gaps of the boarded up windows, you see the streets are now empty as the last remaining rays of sunshine dip beyond the horizon. There are no lights to illuminate the streets, and the only light within the quarantine zone you see flicker through the occasional window of the few occupied buildings within the area. Looking further down the dark streets you manage to make out a dim light of guards upon the walls. You notice that the number patrols on the walls are fewer at night but consist of more guards each. You assume that perhaps they feel that there is safety in numbers as they move upon the ramparts.
"Straight to the sewage gate or do we want to split up and one watch over the butchers offerings?" Kitaer asks before they head out. He believes it is probably best to all watch the gate in case they do see a way in and out. If they take advantage of it and slip out it would be best if they are all together.
Kitaer then leads the way to the gate, doing his best to stick to shadows and alleys and make as little noise as possible. (Stealth: 21)

Nesyax nods to Kitaer's comment. "Yes, what is our plan? I think we should get some bones and keep watch for the Bone Collector's minions. But I guess we could just keep a watch at the grate."

"I am fairly certain the tunnel under the wall is their point of entry. Let's set up an ambush there and take the minions out as they have all exited the tunnel. Then we take one to question thoroughly before we visit the lair of the Bone Collector." Daryos says, then following Kitaer as quietly as he can.
As she sees Daryos try to slink off after Kitaer, Nesyax asks, "We sneaking up on the spot? I'm not sure we're all good at sneaking." Her eyes dart briefly towards Vesna. "Ambush is a good idea, just not sure we're going to sneak up on anything." She follows after the others as well, eager to get to doing something rather than just resting and waiting.
(OOC - Unfortunately Nesyax has neither Arcana nor Medicine to help out Vesna. As far as sneaking, she has no proficiency there either, but at least a +2)
"I don't believe we need to sneak from the get-go, but I suppose a don't mind a more careful approach" says Stasy as he sedately walks towards the metal grate.
He uses the buildings as a guide as it is rather quite dark outside. He decides not to light his lantern in fear that it might scare off the bone collector minion. Once near the metal grate Stasyn pauses as to wait to hear from those with Darkvision.
Vesna carefully arranges the vials she retrieved last night from the basement on a nearby table, her brow furrowed in concentration. Carefully and with delicate precision, she prepares her alchemist supplies from her luggage, cautious not to break something.
Pouring a small amount of liquid from one of the vials into a glass beaker, she observes its texture and colour, noting any peculiarities or reactions. Studiously, she begins the process of identification, meticulously testing each substance.
As she works, Vesna's attention shifts to the vial containing the spider venom. Carefully inspecting and swirling its contents, she observes the venom's properties, searching for any distinguishing characteristics. Medicine check: 18 with guidance 4
After nightfall: Vesna looks dubiously at her own attire. "I don't think it is any good of me to try sneaking around," she motions quietly to the heavy armour. "But I can keep watch. And I can grant you some more vision once we have a better idea on what we are doing.."

((Regarding sneaking... I don't imagine we're tiptoeing the entire wy as if trying to carefully work our way through a room of napping excitable puppies... But more sticking to the dark side of the streets, trying to not be seen. Minimize noise not make none. Since people don't go out after dark it shouldn't be all that hard... We just shouldn't be using torches or waving to guards or such. Everyone has some sneaky in them...))

We're doing one small murder-y thing for a bigger, better reason. The ends justify the means.
Vesna unpacks her supplies and first begins examining the vials she pulled from the basement of the Wet Weasel. After spending a some time examining the vials and the residue left within, she feels fairly certain that whatever was in the vial was likely similar to a simple healing potion. When turning to focus on the venom, Ren comes over to join her. After she spends some time examining the venom, she quickly determines that she could easily us the venom as Poison, Basic (vial). The lizardfolk folds his arms and examines the liquid as well. "You know... I think that if we can get some silver chain... and some more venom... I bet we could create a Periapt of Proof against Poison." Ren ponders. He then grins to Vesna and moves back to occupying himself. "Maybe some of the silver loot from the Wet Weasel could be turned into chains." He ponders.
OOC: If you are going to try to setup an ambush, I will need some kind of stealth roll from everyone... Unless someone wants to be bait or something :P
The party leaves the safety of the HQ and makes there way into the darkness. A cold breeze blows through the streets, causing you to see your breath as you walk. Clouds fill the sky, preventing the moonlight from aiding the party in their travels. As you make your way down the street, you could swear that you hear whispers in the wind and footsteps in the distance. Looking around however, you see nothing but darkness and the occasional rat scampering away in search of shelter. After a few minutes of walking you approach the hole in the wall. Above the wall you see six lights moving together along the ramparts together. The flickering lights illuminate the armor of the guards and the crossbows they wield. You have been able to watch the patrols along the wall and could easily time your approach to where the patrol is farthest away if you were patient.
OOC: So before I describe more, is the plan to watch the hole and see what happens? Do you try to place any bones or body as bait? are you trying to hide from the patrol above and keep an eye on the opening?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
While they come up with a plan, Vesna follows the rest, trying to keep quiet and to stick to the darkness. Strategy in situations like this is not her forte, so the cleric waits to hear what the others suggest they do. She thanks her goddess for the gift of vision so she can see enough not to get too paranoid, but still, a strong feeling of unease settles into her, but clutching at her own sleeves, she tries not to show it.

Once they make it back to the spot where the stream passes through the grate, Nesyax would find a spot where she could see anything coming and going through the grate, but might be somewhat concealed herself.

As the party approaches the grate in the wall, they look for places to hide. The wind howls and the shadows seem to move strangely in the night but nothing seems to happen at first. The patrol on top of the ramparts passes by every 10 minutes, shining a bullseye lantern down at the road below as they pass. After almost 30 minutes, those of you with darkvision are to see a little movement behind the bars imbedded in the wall. Those if you without darkvision however cannot see much past the bridge in the dark without some sort of light source..
OOC: Those of you with darkvision
Behind the bars imbedded in the wall you first see a few eyes appear bobbing from within the dark tunnel. Then, you see the smiles... smiles that are TOO wide and... upside-down? That is when you notice, that as the first of the creatures reach the grate.. is that it isn't the smile that is upsidedown.. it is the creatures entire head. As the crowd up against the bars... you see them pressing themselves up tight against the metal and then... in an instant... The creatures disappear. The creatures are no longer in the tunnel...
