Cries from the streets… Confused masses fill the paths… Screams ring out…
“Where is the Lightbringer?!”
The seven dragon sages appear at the capital, Xoirvei, to talk with the government and scholars found there. They tell the king troubling news, which is kept secret from the populace to avoid even more mass panic.
In Tiervay, a small village, several people have just been summoned to the town hall, called together to take care of a more immediate problem – there a bandit gang only two days from town, and they have been attacking Tiervay often, becoming even bolder since the cataclysm that changed the skies, now even abducting people.
The mayor stands before the 6 people he has gathered. Mayor Nuradack is a dwarf late in his third century, and has been in office for an entire decade. “Now, you lot may not know each other, but I can tell that you are good warriors and we have a problem only warriors such as yourselves can fix. Those damned bandits have become a rather persistent pest since the cataclysm last week. From what we can tell, they are currently about some two days north of here. If you could eradicate them all, I would greatly appreciate it, as would all the citizens. You will be rewarded for your efforts, in addition to whatever else they have.”
Nearest Neighbor: Ceoldry (3 days East), Giezien (3½ days west) Population: 325 (Mixed) A quiet, low key bar, the Gilded Dwarf is the only tavern in town. Teirvay is a village of mixed races. One of the most racially diverse places in the country in fact. It is a gathering place for many cultures and, placed between two towns, Cioldry and Giezien, it often sees traders walking through its gates with strange and exotic goods.
Standing there glowering at the world, the tall vampire stares at Nuradack while he gives his speech before raising his hand and speaking up
-->It seems you have an issue with bandits, and as that is an inhuman way to earn money I will help you in your plight. If anyone in your village has a connection with the bandits or other foul beings then I will eradicate them, no matter what the other citizens say.
pausing for a moment fingers his pocket and pulls out a map
-->this job is done I would like to ask you about the general area, and what other sort of diabolical being tear apart this countryside, so that I may kill the monsters of human origin and the actual monsters which reside in this plane.
"No, no, just the bandits, please. We know for a fact that no-one is associated with them, thanks to an extensive inquiry. And it is actually rather peaceful around these parts, except for that damned bunch of bandits."
Nuradack is somewhat concerned about the vampire's brutalistic attitude, and quickly weaves his words to attempt to steer him away from this dark path.

Wow! You guys really know how to make something exciting like an adventure sound dark and ominous! Well, that's your guys problem, not mine hehehe!
From the middle of them a short fellow about 3'2'' tall and no more then 35 lb, with gray skin, a shinny bald head with extremely full white sideburns and a annoying smile upon his face, the gnome moves to the center of the party, right in front of the mayor and continues:
Hello there Mayor Nuradack, my name is Bimbledorff Nanfoodle Tegginuckey Pwent, but you can call me Bimble Tegginucky for shorts or just Bimble for shorter, since I am a tiny bit smaller then the bunch of you others heheheheh I am a scholar sent from Davanarth's School of Knowledge and Art and came all the way here, and mind you, for my little legs it was a long way to find out about the Light Bringer and such. But! And there always is a but, I will be glad to help you village with this bandit trouble if you promise I will get transport to the next town, I will even work with the vamp....wait, are you a true vampire?! How interesting! How is that you are out and about? Oh yeah, no Light Bringer, that might explain. But what you have with monsters and demons? I thought you only feed on humanoid blood... and I know for a fact that gnome blood is poisonous to vampires! That is a fact! Trust me!
Turning to the mayor: So, Nura, the bandits are assailing your village for what? Food, money, sacrifice victims? Can you point in that fellow's map over there where we need to go? Great!
From her position off to the side, Shariel sighs, adjusts the longbow strung across her back, and heads toward the group as she listens to Bimble's rambling introduction. "Patience, my friend. Mayor, I would like to know as well why you believe these people have been kidnapped. Stealing food or goods is one thing, but kidnapping implies either a desire for ransom or a use for the people elsewhere." She shudders slightly, eyes unfocusing for a moment as she imagines the possible uses for villagers unable to defend themselves. With a bit of a shake, she forces herself to refocus on the Mayor. "Also, is there anything you can tell us about the area the bandits are hiding in? Do the bandits seem to be simple fighters or have they shown greater skill in martial or magical arts?"
"We have already checked the villagers. You do not need to, and if you take it upon yourselves to do so, your reward will be halved if I'm feeling generous, and not given at all if I'm not. We don't know the specific location, but they are likely not far off the Hunter's Trail around two days north of here. As for what the bandits are doing with the people, or their capabilities, we don't know. They are quite stealthy, and have only been seen twice, one time with weapons, one time without."
The mayor stands firm. His words ring with truth and determination that you leave his villagers alone.

"N-Now both of you stop!" Mabel States sharply bolting up from her seat.
Mabel had been living in the woods near town for about three weeks now, doing the odd job or bringing in game for trade. So when Nuradeck asked her to meet with him she obliged. She hadn't been expecting there to be other people, however, so almost immediately after arriving and mumbling an introduction she darted to a chair and kept her eyes pointedly away from everyone else.
However, her knuckles went white on the edges of her chair listening to the Pale man and Male Elf talk about hurting the townspeople. These people had been good and understanding of her, and she had to speak up at the attitudes of her potential companions.
"Th-these are good people and they've been suffering from these brigands for far too long. They do not need that compounded by your mistrust and violence." sunken sleep deprived eyes darted between the two as she challenged them. However, the momentary confidence quickly slipped from her and her shoulders slumped as her head sunk back into her hood. She then woodenly turned towards Nuradek.
"Nura you said they are by the Hunter's Trail, could you have one of the Hunter's who frequents the area talk to us to give us an idea of where they may be hiding out." She quietly asked the mayor looking down at his desk as she did so.

PbP character Son Kol - Kel Dor Fringer (Shadows of the Republic)
Obviously amused and impressed by how the hooded girl defended the towns people to a Vampire and A Blood Hunter, Still-lock just nodded his head to convey a quick sorry and agreement over talking with a hunter.
Please Mabel, it is Mabel right? Right! I am sure that the Mr. Elf, who didn't give us a name out of forgetfulness for sure is only saying that some of the villagers might have been forced to cooperate with the bandits, he knows that the good people of this village would never do any harm to themselves if not forced to, right? Right! So, we could go to the Gilded Dwarf and look for a hunter or trapper that uses the mentioned trail to see if he knows more helpful information. So, let's go guys! We have people to save!
With that said, Bimble gives a little smile toward Mabel and moves to the door of the office waiting everyone else.
How interesting! A thief and killer so forward with his occupation! It means you are probably good at it for no fear of getting caught thieving or not killing your target. It is nice to meet you Still-Lock! I am just a scholar and might be called an arcanist at some times, but mostly a scholar...yeap, that's it, I am a scholar! So, the bunch of you left, let's move? We can finish the introductions on the move!
Bimble opens the door and with raising and lowering eyebrows and nods with his had he clearly indicates that he was already bored here and wanted to move on.
Mabel looks to Nura one last time with her trademarj look of mild distress. Then turns to follow the party out the door, pulling her cloak tighly around her.

Still-Lock follows, looking quite un-entertained by the conversations, readjusting his Twin Hook Blades so that both sit to his right side, and throwing his dice in the air and catching them as he walks out the door.
As everyone starts to file out of the room without a seeming order I stay behind everyone to close and lock the door behind them
--> Well now that we've collected our self's in a manner befitting of being out in the public we shall go off to complete the task we were given, as that is what is expected of us adventurers.
