Okay, so I am going to be starting a PBP Campaign, and I need players! I am a new DM, only DMing two or three games with friends of mine. This campaign will be taking place in Emia, an island world of my creation. I have not really built much of the world, just the basics of the island you will be starting on and some current world events, so when making your character's backstory, you can create islands and cities. Eventually, I am hoping to expand into more than one group going on in Emia, but right now just one. Your adventurers begin on Star Isle, a small island with one city, Star Port that wraps around the entire island with a forest, called Star Forest in the center of the island. I am looking for four players. So give me your characters, made on the character creation provided by D&D Beyond, with a little bit of backstory, and if you want, tell me what you want in this campaign.
I believe I am interested in your game. I have not before played a PBP game but believe I will catch on quickly. I assume you prefer a PB for stats? Are there any narrative limitations to character generation? I have a halfling character floating around that would fit nicely into an island campaign.
Fontanne isn't going to be especially fond of combat or social interaction, but will be able to put up with them. She's been called to wander, though, so exploration would be good.

"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both" -- allegedly Benjamin Franklin
Level 1 Halfling Fighter Specializing in Ranged Combat and the Culinary Arts.
Fexler Fishwater has been away from home for a long while. He grew up on the small island of Kala'maka'ariana in his small village. The halflings of the village had built their demense high in the thick trees that grow in the center of the island. They have vast spanning rope bridges that connect the small huts that perch near the thick canopy.
When he was young, Fexler's parents were killed in a boating accident and eaten by sharks. He lived with his grandparents who loved and doted on him. His grandfather had acquired an old crossbow from a trader many years before and trained young Fexler in its use. He quickly became the greatest hunter on the island and began touring to other nearby islands to bring back exotic beasts.
When his fame began to grow Fexler's grandmother attempted to teach him humility by teaching him to cook. He learned quickly how to combine flavors in new and exciting ways. Soon he was not only the most renowned hunter around but also a famous chef. In his twenties Fexler opened his first restaurant, the only building in the village to be built on the ground, and it drew traders and locals alike. His acclaim grew and grew.
By the time he was thirty The Ground Floor, Fexler's restaurant, had made enough money to train others from his village to run the place. He then struck out into the world. He bought himself passage on a boat and headed into the world. He has been travelling Emia ever since looking for new beasts, recipes and ingredients to take back. He is also scouting for potential locations for future eateries.
Fexler tends to avoid altercations when possible. He prefers to hunt from a perch, willing to lie in wait for hours. His training in the culinary arts has also led him to a minor horticultural understanding. He is quite proficient in identifying herbs and spices as well as potentially delicious roughage. He has also learned to identify the plants that are not so great for eating. He also has an understanding of plants that are not great for eating. He is quite adept and identifying and preparing poisons for various situations. Though he is rather secretive of where this knowledge came from.
Room for 1 more? I've got 1 of 2 Mystics I've been dying to try out.

I'm running out of ideas for SRD/EEPC-legal characters.

The Starting Level is 1
I had a feeling it would be. I just need to work out the personality and write the backstory.

To Drisk: I feel like as long as you can't use something as "cheating" then I will be fine with it, as long as there is a narrative reason.
To Matthias: Perfect! Seeing as islands there will be lots of exploring on boats!

Great, love it!

What post frequency would you require?
Cheers :)
