“Oh well, I was on an expedition just below the surface, looking for new ingredients.
See, I have been raised in a monastery - the Monastery of the Order of Saint Dionysus, far North. You probably don’t know it, but it is well know for it’s brewery. At the end of our training, we are sent to a journey to discover the world and ourselves . My Master send me to find new ingredient ad new recipes for our liquors, and I decided to go where no monks of our Order went before, the Underdark.
After a week or so, I found a few good fungus that could be used for liquor but then I was ambushed by these dark elves and woke up with you guys…
Behind you is a group of deep gnomes, talking quickly about which kind of gemstone is the best.
My name is Gemfinder. I'll go join them.
OOC: If you don't have enough technical gibberish prepared, just hand-wave it.
As you approach the bickering deep gnomes, you overhear one arguing to the others, "Diamonds! They're crazy about diamonds, and they don't realize there are tons of them. That's where the money is. We can price them high because they'll think they're rare!" You see one or two others nodding, and a third replies, "But where's the artistry in that? Anyone can make a buck selling gems, but give me a ruby or a sapphire any day, pure color, polished to a shine. Maybe you can't sell as many, but you can take some pride in it."

What about you Valrish ?”
"Me? Well... It's actually pretty dumb. Around a month ago, I left my clan's village to search for new stuff, maybe bring back some heads of beasts I had never seen as a prize. Thing is, I didn't have much experience out of the village, but I still managed to find my way around the Sword Coast. I was passing through Neverwinter, and I was hired as a bodyguard for some kind of expedition. They said they were trying to find giants or stuff. I had heard of giants, and I decided to get one's head. We had gone quite a while towards east, and we decided to camp near a place called Marvyn's Shield, or something like that. And guess who was taking guard for first turn? They decided to put me first for watch, but I don't think it wasa a good idea. Some thirty minutes after everyone had fallen asleep, I started blacking out. Next thing I know, I'm being carried by some drow through a tunnel. Bet some bastards decided to sell me off as a worker..." Valrish takes a gulp of his beer, and grunts a bit. "Say, where's Belwar?" He asks, looking around for the gnome.

"Any society that would give up a little liberty to gain a little security will deserve neither and lose both" -- allegedly Benjamin Franklin
The food and drinks are brought to your table. Having spent so long on a diet of fungus, it is a refreshing reminder of where you are trying to get back to.
The group of halflings and gnomes eventually convince a duergar to join them in a song. They are awful, but they seem to be enjoying themselves. Several of the other patrons start to get up and retire to their rooms in the various offshoot hallways from the main cavern.
Belwar: You hear the deep gnomes continue to argue about gem pricing, the value of different cuts, and their favorite locations to mine. It seems they are all part of a mining guild in Blingdenstone, the home of the deep gnomes. They often come to Gracklstugh to trade the surplus gems that they are unable to sell to the surface dwellers.
Before the tavern empties, Griming goes to the bar and talked to the innkeeper.
"So, you said there is a brewery in the city ? Can I visit the place ? You see, I am also a apprentice brewer in my place at the surface and I'd love to share knowledge with you master brewer here. Here, have a taste of our liquor." Griming pours a bit from his last flask into a small glass.

The innkeeper eyes the flask suspiciously, but eventually relents and takes a sip from the glass. "Aye, this is mighty fine indeed. You've got some talent. I'm afraid the brewery is closed to outsiders though. Nothing short of an invite from the Deepking himself will get you in there. Trade secrets and all..." He moves slightly to the right and bellows out to the dinning hall,"Last call! I'm closing up for the night."
The halflings finish their song. The other groups start to gather their things and head down the hallways. The deep gnomes trail off their conversation to finish their drinks.
(OOG Anything you want to do before officially taking a long rest and starting the next day?)
You all retire, finding rooms down one of the cavern hallways. A nice meal, a warm (if somewhat hard) bed, and a full night's rest are welcome after the long journey from Sloobludop.
(OOG Everyone can receive the benefits of a long rest)
The next morning, you confer with your companions over a hot breakfast. Jimjar purchases the food, claiming he won a game of Three Dragon Ante against some of the other patrons late last night before going to bed. You all agree the first place to check for information, stock up on goods, as well as sell items, is the Blade Bazaar which should be opening up soon. Sarith suggests he stay at the inn with Stool. Even with the tenuous employment of the Stone Guard, he's not keen on being out in the open for the day. He says he and Stool can look for leads on how to get to the Neverlight Grove. And besides, most everyone here speaks common, so no need for the telepathic spores.
(OOG You can let me know if you have any response to Sarith or Jimjar, but I'm going to move on and we'll fill it in later.)
You gather your belongings and head to the bazaar. Merchants and vendors are already setting up and hawking their wares. The main trade, hence the name, is in weapons from various areas of the underdark and overworld. But there are a great deal of other vendors as well, selling supplies, various foods, and other odds and ends.
Oorr will go around the Bazaar trying to sell three daggers, the longbow and the 54 arrows. He will also try to find some magical trinkets which would allow him to have darkvision. Whether there is such an item or not, healing potions will surely come in handy.
Weapons, weapons, and, just for a change of pace, more weapons. Typical duergar. Is there anything civilized--I'd settle for a "Welcome to Gracklstugh" sign at this point--in this entire bazaar?
OOC: A bookstore would be ideal, if I can get one.
Griming wakes up, well rested. "I might finally manage to sell some stuff I have in my backpack" Following Oorr to find a good Marchand.
I would like to sell: - A silver chain headdress set with small onyx stones (50 gp) (from the Drows) - a small moonstone (20 gp) (from the Drows) - The shrine to Lloth that is covered in a white drape is made of finely carved zurkhwood and bone, and inlaid with semi-precious stones. It may be worth something if you could find a buyer. (from the Drows) - Three Green-gold bracelets (from the ooze)
and looking for:
- flask of oil (1sp) - I think it will synergize very well with the love of Belwar for Fire :) - 1 healer kit (5gp) -

You are able to find buyers for all of your items. The bracelets are worth 25 gold apiece, and the other items sell readily enough. It takes you the longest to finder a buyer for the shrine of zurkhwood. A few of the merchants write it off as just drow garbage, even if it is made well. You eventually find one duergar merchant who is willing to deal with you. He claims to be a trader of drow items and will gladly take it off your hands for 50 gold pieces. In the middle of your transaction he turns invisible... but proceeds to finish the deal, your gold coins being deposited into your pouch from an invisible hand. He thanks you, then presumably goes about his work, though you can't see him.
It takes some time, but you are also able to find a flask of oil and a healing kit.
(OOG Total gold received: 195 gp (50+20+75+50) Total gold spend: 5.1 gp

OOC: A bookstore would be ideal, if I can get one.
You cast your eyes about for traders selling books. The duergar aren't known for their love of reading, but you do manage to find one merchant selling a variety of books collected from those passing through the underdark. He bids you to browse and pick out anything you want. "Find something you like! All books are 5 gold, regardless of the content. Can't say I've actually read what's in them anyway."
(OOG Investigation check to peruse the books for something good. Let me know what type of book you're looking for.)
In the middle of your transaction he turns invisible... but proceeds to finish the deal, your gold coins being deposited into your pouch from an invisible hand. He thanks you, then presumably goes about his work, though you can't see him.
"hummm... this was weird... " mumbles Grimnir, although pretty happy to have finally gotten rid of all the drow stuff...
Grimnir is going to get also 2 small healing potions (100gp I guess?) Any other weird thinks happening around Grimnir ? Perception14
Oorr will go around the Bazaar trying to sell three daggers, the longbow and the 54 arrows. He will also try to find some magical trinkets which would allow him to have darkvision. Whether there is such an item or not, healing potions will surely come in handy.
Selling and buying weapons in the Blade Bazaar is easy. You find a buyer after hardly trying. All together the weapons fetch you 29 gold pieces. Healing potions are harder, but you do manage to find a single stall with healing potions available. The price is steep at 50 gold each. The booth only has 5 to sell.
Finding magic items is harder. Since they're often rare and worth so much, this place isn't really the place to look, but if you search hard enough, you might be able to find some. (OOG Investigation check to find something...)

You look around and find Oorr negotiating for what appear to be the only healing potions available in the bazaar, and only 5 are left.
Other than the crowd getting busier as it nears mid-day, nothing else seems to be weird. You keep an eye out for the strange derro that the Stone Guard mentioned, Droki, but see no sign of the tentacled hat.

Oorr will sell those weapons and try to find a magical trinkets' seller...(Investigation 14)
Valrish walks around, trying to find any place to sell his club, shortsword, and the drow jewellery he had kept. After all, when it comes to shiny things, gold is much better than any gem. He also tries to look for a couple scimitars, and maybe another couple oil flasks for his lantern.
Perception (in case he spots any rabbit-ish derro): 7
