Oorr will take the "cursed" gems, go by the docks and instruct Zippy to drops them in the boat of the adventurers without being noticed.
Zippy Stealth check 22
With eight legged dexterity, Zippy clutches the pouch of gems, skitters along the edge of the dock, and drops them in the back of the boat, unbeknownst to the adventurers.
"Good boy, Zippy, good boy,"Oorr says, proud of his spidey friend. Being a creature used to fly in the most forceful wind of the Star Mounts, Oorr couldn't have imagined he would appreciate so much the gracious movements and abilities of an underground spider.
OOC When, Belwar has finished his transaction, I am ready to go to the giants.
As you all finish up your shopping, you meet back up in the middle of the bazaar. The morning business has died down slightly as travelers head to the inns and taverns for lunch. You saw no signs of the derro, Droki, today, but Errde Blackskull suggested you meet up with the stone giants first anyway. Calling over a nearby stone guard, you indicate your desire to head south of the furrow, to Cairngorm Cavern, where you were invited to meet the stonespeaker. The guard nods, then leads you South through one of the large gates that locks off the Darklake District from the rest of the city. As you pass through, you all get more than one disapproving look from the duergar stationed there.
After a few minutes of walking you come to Laduguer's Furrow, the massive chasm splitting the city in two. There are walkways and stairs cut into the walls to allow passage across, and what look like homes and other residential buildings built in to the sides. The chasm stretches 500 feet across and nearly 200 feet down. The guard leads you across one of the walkways, after which he turns West.
After some more time walking, you come at last to a large cave opening. A stone giant you don't recognize is standing outside. He looks older than the two you saw yesterday. He is shirtless, but wearing a golden belt with a wide brown skirt covering his lower half. As you approach, the stone guard halt, but usher you forward. The giant is smiling and beckon's you forward. "You must be the ones that Dorhun told me about. Come, we must speak."
Inside you find simple accommodations, most large enough for giants, but a few designed for those of your size. The stonespeaker has you sit, then begins, "The Stone Giantd of Clan Cairngorm have served the deepkingdom and the cairngorm crown for centuries. Normally, only the Deepking is allowed in here, but we must thank you for your actions in subduing Rihuud. He is recovering now, and we are taking care of him as best we can. You must have many questions being strangers in this land. Ask me anything, and I will tell you what I can."
Following Belwar question, Grimnir asks: "Some of our companions have also suffered some episodes of madness. Do you know anything about this? Do you know how to cure somebody who is suffering of this affliction?"
OOC: following the conversation, Grimnir ask also if he knows anything about the the derro Droki.
Valrish looks around the giant cave, and still regrets not being able to take a monster's head as a prize. "Say, stone giants are good at carving and mining, right? Isn't there a way to make a tunnel to the surface?" He asks the Stonekeeper.

After dispensing with the formalities, I ask him what he knows about demon lords having gotten out of the Abyss.
Stonespeaker Hgraam starts to shake his head no, but suddenly his eyes turn completely white, and his voice echoes through the room.
“Something evil stirs in the Underdark. The rock itself cries in pain and horror, and a madness creeps from the blackest depths. Pay heed to the signs surrounding you. A cave with two faces. Rock devoured, and the land overgrown. The pebble believes itself flesh. The earth rejects its wards, and the tunnels shake in fury. By these portents, you shall know of evil’s presence and of evil’s face. This is what the stones tell me.”
After the sudden outburst, his eyes return to their normal gray, and he says to you, "Demon lords out of the abyss? No, I know nothing of this."
"Madness has become more common these days. The derro are often said to be mad, but now the duergar show signs of it as well. Magic in the form of lesser restoration can be used to stave off the effects, but should it go untreated for a long time, more permanent afflictions may occur."
"Droki is known to us, though he is hard to track down. He is a courier of sorts, taking messages from place to place. His home is in the West Cleft District."
So that's why he's called a Stonespeaker. He speaks for the stones--or they speak through him. I wonder how much he'll tell me if I ask. I think I'll try it.

Oorr respectfully listens to all the Stonekeeper have to say, then he will ask about the Council of Savants, and the Deepking.
"The Council of Savants is made up of 36 derro who act as representatives of their race among the ruling clans of Gracklstugh. However, they have let power and wealth go to their heads, and while they live in relative luxury, their fellow derro live in squalor in the ghettos of Laduguer's Furrow.
We serve the deepking, as our clan has done for centuries, honoring an oath made long ago. But that oath is to the Steelshadow clan, so we are allies only as long as the line of Hogarth Steelshadow remains in power."
Valrish looks around the giant cave, and still regrets not being able to take a monster's head as a prize. "Say, stone giants are good at carving and mining, right? Isn't there a way to make a tunnel to the surface?" He asks the Stonekeeper.
"We speak with and shape the stone, but we do not tunnel. There are already ways to the surface if you know where to look."
"We speak with and shape the stone, but we do not tunnel. There are already ways to the surface if you know where to look."
"You seem very honourable, Stonespeaker. As you probably guess, we are looking for the quickest way to the surface. Could you help us ? Obviously, as a matter of courtesy, we would be happy to help you if you would require help for anything."
"Also, who should we look for to cure any sign of madness if, in the future, one of us would suffer from it?"

"I've heard tales of portals to and from the dreamlands, but they are hidden and the tales do not always give good directions. However, it seems the deep gnomes have more dealings than most with those from above. You may wish to seek your escape in Blingdenstone. The Myconids may also have knowledge of such things, but they are harder to find, and even harder to deal with."
"As to madness, you will need to seek those versed in restorative magics. I can assist you, should you be in dire need. Are you quite mad?"
