Grick Alpha Con Save: 3
(OOG Grick is stunned after Grimnir's turn, so no benefit to Valrish and Oorr on this round. Grick took 18 total damage from Grimnir and Jimjar due to resistance on the unarmed and bow attacks)

With a few words to the primal spirits of nature, Oorr summons one of those spirits, shaped like a small ghostly eagle. The spirit flies over the wounded body of Zippy and begins to heal his wounds.
"Stay strong my friend, stay strong."Oorr follows the eagle-spirit right behind, but he bends suddenly the wings to turn against the Grick and make a double-stab with the magic dagger.
The grick strains, but its muscles are locked up tight from the pinpoint attacks of Grimnir. It utters a grumbling clicking noise into the face of Valrish.
(OOG Grick is stunned for the round. So everyone has their turns now. Attacks with Advantage.)

Grimnir smiles: "It worked ! I cannot believe it !" Running again the helpless Grick, this time Grimnir is aiming for real damage. Mace 1: 8 damage 5 + 1 Fire damage Mace 2: 24 damage 4 + 1 Fire damage Bonus attack: 17 damage 5
After the attack, Grimnir falls back once again and get out of reach (20ft) Jimjar notices that the creature does not move and release 2 shotst. Shortbow 1: 24 damage 3 Shortbow 1: 14 damage 5 Sneak Attack if possible: + 11
Grimnir uses the last moments of his stun to bash in he head of the Grick. Its body is lumpy and oozing from the onslaught. It raises its head in one last futile attempt to bite at something when an arrow from Jimjar's bow sinks directly into the brain of the creature. It slumps to the ground, tentacles splayed out, and beak silent.
"Actually, maybe Belwar could look around ? His eyes are much better than mine to detect things. I'll have a small rest if it's ok with you (recovering my Ki points)"
You all take some time to rest and investigate the cave. Among some rocks and refuse you find the remains of multiple creatures. Some of it is discarded and decayed fungus, likely whatever is left of some of the poor myconid that wandered too close to the entrance. But you also find cloaks and bags belonging to other would-be adventurers. Some of the gear looks like typical duergar clothing, and some of finer quality, possibly drow in origin.
Aside from the scattered clothing, you find a few things of value.
- A mixture of coins totaling 428 GP. - A small bag of 20 opal gems, the size of marbles (worth 1,000 GP) - 2 daggers - 1 shortsword - 1 broken quarterstaff - A satchel full of blank parchments and writing implements - 3 vials of an unidentifiable liquid. The vials are corked, but it looks like the cork has worn away with time, so they are not sealed tightly.
After the rest, Oorr splits the gold and the gems amongst the party (107 GP and 5 opal gems each). He takes 85 of the gold and gives the rest to Eldeth.
You gather the loot, and head back to the grove. Grimnir collects a trophy from the beak of the Grick.
Upon your return, and reporting back to Loobamub, the myconid is thoroughly impressed. "I admit I did not think it would be that easy. You are truly seasoned adventurers, and have done a great service to the colony. Many times have softers wandered into the grove, but none have been so capable. You should rest now, perhaps you can take part in some of the circles as they gather for the evening. You could perhaps learn something of our ways if you wish." Loobabum goes back to his work, but let's you know that the circle gatherings will be starting soon.
(OOG At this point you can rest for the evening. You have the option of joining one of the circles as they commune before taking your long rest. The circles are: Hunters, Builders, Growers, Sporers, and Explorers, and also the Inner Circle with Basidia and Phylo.)
After taking the leave from the Hunters and wishing Loobamub good fortune, Oorr search for Basidia:"I will join you, Basidia. Although alien to me, I wish to understand the ways of good folks such as yourself."
Following the group, Grimnir is intrigued by the group of myconids he spoke to earlier. Passing by Yrberop in a meditative state, he stops. "It looks like meditation, Yrberop. I, myself, always take some time to meditate. It brings me peace. May I join you?"
Grimnir sits close to the Myconids, in front of the small spores growing up on the fresh soil. As usual, Grimnir finds his quiet place, meditating on the actions of the day. But, today, something is different. Grimnir can feel a connection with other creatures
After taking the leave from the Hunters and wishing Loobamub good fortune, Oorr search for Basidia:"I will join you, Basidia. Although alien to me, I wish to understand the ways of good folks such as yourself."
Basidia agrees, but cautions you to stay vigilante, and brings you to the inner circle where Phylo, several other Myconid advisers, and Basidia sit in a circle around a large table like zurkhwood mushroom cap. The leaders of the grove sit silently, releasing spores into the air that drift into the center of the circle where the mingle and disperse, spreading evenly around the group. Through this the spores carry thoughts, hopes, tales, and other dreams of the myconid as the meld their daily experiences.
While you are unable to release spores of your own, you sense the camaraderie of the myconid and the desire to be in communion with each other. You can't shake the sense that most of the spores are from Phylo, who seems to be overpowering much of the "conversation." Basidia seems to be resisting giving away too much information as well, likely not to tip off Phyl to the dissent in the colony. Several hours pass, after which the myconid separate to rest for the evening. "Quite an experience, is it not? Especially for a softer, I imagine." says Basidia.

Yrberop is happy to let you join the sporers circle. Several myconid responsible for the production of new myconid join in a circle around the central area. Spores are released as they meditate and commune. Your consciousness drifts in and out as you hear the stories and feelings from the day, the struggle to survive, and the joy of living. Yrberop breaks away early to care for some of the spores coming in just today, while the others continue their meditation. You sense peace, but something at the edge of your senses seems to be looking. You're unsure of what it is, but you sense a presence in the Garden of Welcome that should be anything but welcome in this gentle, peaceful place. Several hours pass before the myconid stop their melding and leave to rest before the following day.
"Basidia, that was quite unique, and I was glad to witness it. However, I felt also... imbalance and... a sense of urgency... from Phylo? Is that usual?"
