Hello everyone! I am hosting a PlayByPost Dungeons & Dragons adventure for four or five 3rd level characters. The adventure is a homebrew favorite of mine: The Avatar of Merrshaulk.
In this adventure, an ancient threat, the yuan-ti, have been promised a second chance of world domination by Sseth, the Sibilant Death. The stirrings of the snakefolk start small (sudden increases in crime and the like). As the adventure progresses, you (the few I am willing to allow in) discover the hidden yuan-ti citadels spread across the forgotten realms.
The adventure is in its draft form and will soon be released on the Dungeon Masters' Guild (date unknown). The character creation rules are simple. You may either buy your starting equipment or pick starting equipment. Please generate your ability scores using the standard array. To enter your character, please post the following information about your character:

From remote temples in jungles, swamps, and deserts, the yuan-ti plot to supplant and dominate all other races and to make themselves gods.

Just one problem. AcerakTheEternal, clerics are not proficient with plate armor. And also, I said that players could either use the starting equipment list or purchase equipment with their starting gold. Plate armor costs 1500 gp. Cleric's starting gold can be 200 max (5d4x10).

Actually, life domain clerics are proficient in heavy armor. Look it up. Also, I accidentally put in plate armor; he actually has chain.

You're both right, and you're both wrong. Life clerics are proficient with heavy armor, dwarves aren't. Mountain dwarves get light and medium armor, but not heavy.

"Shortly after the sudden flash of lightning, the deafening thunder booms. The merchant caravan you were traveling with has reached its destination: The City of Splendors, Waterdeep. You had joined the caravan a tenday ago, hearing of rumors of murders happening here. You heard news of a strange cult known as the Cult of the Cobra that has been recruiting initiates from the commoners of the city. You are soaking wet. You and the caravan march through the open gate of Waterdeep. The traveling merchants depart from you, heading towards their guild hall.
You search desperately for a place to rest. Lightning flashes. Thunder shakes the sky. Being near midnight, the streets are almost empty, save a few beggars and mysterious figures in the allies. The inns you find are either full with no rooms to spare, or are locked up for the night. Your group wanders through the streets for almost an hour. Finally, in the less popular part of town, you find an inn that seems decent. The inn carries a wooden sign above the door. The sign has a picture of a winged snake on it. Below the snake is the name of the inn: The Inn of the Black Serpent. The sound of conversation can be heard from outside."

It's probably a trap, but where else are we going to rest? "Careful," I whisper, before entering the inn. Once in, I look around, trying my best to not let anyone notice that I'm doing so.
