King Roland has been poisoned and his eldest son Peter imprisoned for the murder. Peter's impressionable younger brother Thomas has been placed on the throne, but everyone knows that he's little more than a puppet for the court wizard, a dark-hearted and pale skinned villain named Flagg. Now the country of Delain lies in permanent shadow, black clouds hanging in the sky at all times, and rumors abound of dead rising and villages being routed and razed by strange beings from Hell...
Ruleset
The Butcher's Bill is a custom campaign for 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons using only rules from the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, Monster Manual, and Curse of Strahd.
Recruitment
The Butcher's Bill will be a theme- and RP-heavy campaign relying on commitment and significant investment on the parts of both the Dungeon Master and the players to be successful. You don't need to be a master at D&D 5E, but you will need to have a strong desire to dig deep and immerse yourself in both your character and the story. If this sounds like something you'd be interested in, please PM me with a character concept or two. The top 4-6 candidates will be announced by Monday, 9/4 and play will begin shortly thereafter.

I plan to launch a second thread for in-character narrative. Keep an eye out for Butcher's Bill (IC) and read along if you like. I suspect we're going to put on a heck of a show.
