Looking for an ear to whisper into, Irommek gives up and talks at the crocs eyes instead, but finds that he too can't make a sound. Instead, he takes up a game of charades holding up his finger to his lips in a shushing motion and then puts his first two fingers to his eyes, points in the direction of the hydra and then back to his eyes to tell the crocs to keep an eye on the beast.
The crocs seem to understand as they sink in the water so only their eyes are above the water and carefully fan out, each watching a separate head for the cue to fight or run. They instinctively know that this is not an easy meal and they should steer clear, but their predatory instincts are in full swing.
Holding his breath, Irommek wades over closer to his sneaky companion in case he needs to help her and thinks to himself, "Of all the times, why doesn't Gertrude have her damn trident with her NOW?!?!"

Gertrude has about one roundto take the skeleton and go back on the river. What do you do?
Gertrude slowly sticks her head out of the water. She makes sure to keep the pillar between herself and the hydra. Crouching in the sand she moves towards the skeleton in exactly the way her army training had prepared her for. She checks the corps for traps or alarm systems or anything else untowards. If she can't find anything, she'll grab everything and pull it under the water, where she sinks to the ground.
If nothing happens, she'll then stow the skeleton with the treasure in her back, before swimming along the riverbed towards her companions.
Gertrude grabs the poor skeleton as the hydra keep attacking the crocs. They are no match for the multi-headed monster but they give enough time to the party to flee. Eventually, the river stops on a bank, where one small boat is docked. Bag of Nails leads the party into a small cavern nearby, where the party weapons are collected, including Musharib's gauntlet and greataxe.
Not far from there a small tunnel leads the adventurers to a secret passage which finishes in a secret entrance in the west wall of the Royal Palace, back in Omu, where a beautiful sun and tropical weather greet them. The battle in the temple of the Night Serpent has been exhausting, but the party ended the confrontation victoriously.
Felix looks down at his hands with charred burns he grips his hands into a fist. How stupid he was to trust a damn snake person! He gets up and turns to the group.
"Well rest for the moment and we continue on towards the red wizards... Anyone else have anything they want to say?"
Brunella looks at the strange sword from Ras Ni. She spends a few hours getting a sense of its weight and balance, seeing if she can make the flames come out. She practices cutting in the air. It is lighter than her heavy greatsword, more nimble.
Although she is usually quiet, she breaks her habit and asks Inete what happened. How did she disappear? Where did she go? How did she come back to save everyone from certain death.
"Agree on resting in the closest shrine..maybe the one with the magic pool ? It was close I think and had only 1 way in. The red wizard seems very good at detecting us and probably knows where we are now. So we need to be ready for another fight"
"Oh and by the way, next Yuan-ti I see, I don't even try to talk..."
Kurma looks at Inete. She seems stronger, sure of herself. This journey did definitively transform her. "Inete, what happened to you. Your return was a blessing and without you and Bag of Nails, I think we were doomed. You seem... different. Did something happen to you ?"
OOC: I would recommend finding the shrine, getting a short rest to get HP and short-rest based abilities and getting a long rest.
Inete: "I thought we could use the portal to escape. But as soon as I found the activation sequence, I was in a treasure room. Along with four ghouls. I remember a feeling, like the one you have when going back home for the first time since a very long absence. Then I was an allosaurus. Back in my shape, the ghouls been killed, I knew what I had to do."
Artus: "So, Ubtao is back? Is Mezro back?"
Inete: "I don't know if the sacred city is back, Artus. I know Ubtao wants its land back to its primordial spirit. We have to go into the Tomb and finish this."
Dragonbait nods firmly.
Brunella feels that the sword comes from a place she fears the most: fire. Despite Brunella experienced firsthand the power of fire, now she is beginning to understand it.
Gertrude sits down, exhausted, too. After listening to her friends, she remembers that she stuffed a skeleton into her backpack. She pulls everything out and looks at it closely. [OOC: what treasures did Gertrude take?]
Gertrude treated the skeleton quite unceremoniously, it is now a cluster of bones. The cloak and the pouch are intact, though. After one hour wearing the cloak, Gertrude becomes intimate enough with it to understand it is a cloak of the bat. The pouch contains three figurines of ivory goats, similar but also different from one another. Kurma's spell reveals those to be figurine of wondrous power (ivory goats).
Brunella listens carefully to Inete's words. Having seen the power of Ras Ni's sword, she is beginning to comprehend the idea that magic can be used as a tool for survival. Despite her near complete ignorance of coin and value, she has the vague dawning of understanding that the soft yellow metal might be traded to others, for a sword or axe.
Similarly, the useless shiny rocks can be traded for food. She nods to herself, considering these concepts for long minutes. Perhaps the treasure room Inete speaks of might have another sword? Or some incomprehensible item that could aid Oniss or Kurma in some fashion?
She speaks slowly. "Does the treasure room? It can have something to help?"
She feels a momentary blush of shame at her ignorance. How stupid the others must think her.
Lost in thought, Brunella rubs her arms absentmindedly. Her hands touch leather, and she looks down in surprise. She had almost forgotten that she was wearing the brackets found on the accursed snake man. She examines them, running her fingers along the stitching. They are clearly well made, but to what end?
As she asks her questions to the group and waits for an answer, she considers her lot in life. The others seem all so smart, so educated. Even Gertrude, as fierce a warrior as any of Brunella's jungle tribe, has a complex understanding of the world and its dizzying wonders.
She feels small, lost, and stupid. She barely understands why they are here, she just knows that Kurma can be trusted and seems to know all the answers. But can she even trust her own judgment? She trusted the snake woman, and almost got everyone killed. Musharib, the only one that knew her people, is dead. She blinks back tears of shame and sorrow. She feels responsible for his death and for putting everyone at risk. How stupid she is! What a simpleton!
Furious, sad, and riddled with guilt, she continues to look at the bracer, attemping to unlock its secrets.

"Yes Brunella, there's probably good stuff in there. We might need to recover the Ring of Artus from Fenthaza now. But this is not our priority. I would say, we find a nice place to rest for the night. Then we'll have to find those Red Wizard... after that maybe we could have our revenge on those Snakes"
Oniss is surprised when the spell does not work and then recall the Kurma prayer. He shoots Kurma a look of 'nevermind'.
