You know what's going on here: it's the thread to talk about that one livestream featuring those nerdy-ass voice actors that sit around, roll dice, and play Dungeons and Dragons.
For those that don't know, Critical Role is a weekly Dungeons and Dragons game streamed on Geek and Sundry's Twitch channel every Thursday at 7:00PM PST. The game started as a Pathfinder campaign in their homes over four years ago before they were asked to bring it to Twitch in 2015. Critical Role has just recently celebrated its two year streaming anniversary.
The campaign is run by voice actor Matthew Mercer (Overwatch, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy XV) and features as players:
- Liam O'Brien (Naruto, Lord of the Rings) - Laura Bailey (Uncharted, Batman: The Telltale Series) - Ashley Johnson (The Last of Us, Blindspot) - Travis Willingham (Full Metal Alchemist, Avengers Assemble) - Sam Riegel (Phoenix Wright, Elena of Avalor) - Taliesin Jaffe (Fire Emblem, Street Fighter, Black Butler) - Marisha Ray (Gamestop TV, Fire Emblem)
Keep it civil, keep it cool, keep the spoilers under tags, and let's have a good time.
Woo for Critters! I noticed Matt Mercer follows D&D Beyond on Twitter, so it's possible he'll be checking this out too. :)
I would be surprised if he was not already on here. Heavily beta testing this site to oblivion and back ;-) With such a commited DM, hopefully this gives him (and the others) even more tools to work with.
Although they have been doing this so long, hard to say if they need these tools currently.
Matt does frequently refer to an app on his phone for looking up spell descriptions. I can't quite remember when, but there was actually one episode where the spell description on his app was incorrect, so he may consider using this for looking up spell descriptions. She doesn't do it any more, but in the old days, Keyleth had quite a knack for casting spells without reading them properly.

At the very least, it may be a quick way to look up options the next time a Conjure Animals/Elemental/Fey/Woodland Beings is cast.
Hah! I posted in the feedback saying that the Conjure X spells should have hyperlinks to the relevant lists of creatures. So where it says "1 fey creature of CR 2", you could click that and it would take you to a pre-filtered search.

That would be a great feature! Hope it gets added!

I wanna say it was Fight Club that he was using for spells, but I can't for the life of me remember what episode he mentions it.

So good to see fellow critters here, hello everyone! I'm unfortunately waaay behind as I started watching around Christmas. I'm currently only on episode 38, and hoping that one beautiful day I'll catch up to the live streams

You can do it! I think I found out about Critical Role around episode 51-52, and I used my YouTube Red trial to mainline 50-something episodes in three weeks, listening to it podcast style. What's been your favorite moment so far?

Listening to it podcast style is a good idea!
Oh wow, so many great moments. I think their battle with that church door was hilarious, I laughed so hard at that. I was also delighted by the black powder merchant in Vasselheim, Matt Mercer has an amazing voice range. I was also sitting at the edge of my seat during the last battle with the Briarwoods. Haha, and so many other great moments but I can hardly list them all.

Ah, I have found my people!
If you love a character, you give them pain, ruin their lives, make them suffer. Maybe even throw in a heroic death.

Yess
That does sound nice. I know a few DMs that would like that feature.

Bidet from Seattle everyone! Glad to see some Critters supporting WOTC and being active on Beyond. Can't wait to see what the app will bring us.
